Can You Play Stepmania One Handed?

Im working on this right now. Im getting fairly good. Its hard to rotate your hand so your fingers are in the right place, and its still hard to hit tjose left down up right streams occasionally, because you have to use one finger to hit down and then quick move it up to hit up, then right. Its pretty hard.

I've always played with one hand, but I've used three fingers. Recently, I started doing easier songs with only two fingers.

I used to use one hand three fingers until I changed to a QWOP layout.

I can do decent one handed. I can get B's with the rare A on MAX 300 and MAXX UNLIMITED. But that's just because I spent my first 3 weeks of beatmania playing completley one handed

When I first downloaded StepMania, I played with one hand on the number keys (right side of keyboard). That was before I figured out you could use the arrow keys. I can play one handed decently with the arrow keys, but I prefer using both hands then I can AA most songs and earn an extra stage. But I just purchase an ignition 3.0 pad and have been playing Stepmania on that, and I absolutely love it. I only play with the keyboard when I don't feel like dancing.

I always seem to play one-handed, and have gotten good enough at it to pass Emerald Sword. However, I always have a hard time controlling my fingers whenever the steps force them into facing right, which prevents me from being able to avert enough misses to AA songs such as ES. Eventually, I'll play with my two index fingers, but since I'm not used to it, I end up missing a lot of notes. I'll need to try to get out of the habit of using only my right fingers to play StepMania on the keyboard if I'm to truly get any good.

well if your asking if its possible to get good with one hand, then yes. i saw some guy get one or two nc's on OML standard with one hand. thats better than most people here with two. i used to play one handed years ago but could only do 11's and some 12's so i switched to 4-finger. 4-finger is the best style to do hard stuff, but its the hardest to progress with. its alot harder to time 4-finger than index or one hand.

I occasionally play with one finger. Best accomplishment is Vertex Expert.

i normally play on free play mode, yeah i dont even have to touch the keyboard. i get fantastics every time. quad'd vertex^2 first try.

but seriously, four-finger useing two index and middle finger is what i always used.i dont think i could ever do it one handed...

vertex expert is easy poopy, never tried doing it one-handed but I'm sure it's possible.

I've done OML (got a B though) one handed.

Actually I could play good in stepmania one handed..I dont find it hard to play that way.............*Oh yeah, I could do half turns using my right hand when playing..My fingers actually play like feet when I am playing on keyboard...* In a PS controller I find it hard..so I use both hands arggh

I can only play one handed, it really sucks on a ps2 controller but on a keyboard its easy. I use 2 fingers sometimes 3 when there are right turns but once you get used to it its nothing. i can do quite a few of the songs in the keys of flame pack so its nothing big.
