I swear, it sounds like it should have one. Is it just the shortened version on SN?

The full version's on Beatmania IIDX Happy Sky. It's only about 30 seconds longer, but you get the full intro, which is very nice.

Triplets, 12th stream, yes I know what it is.

But it is musically soft and not very upbeat. It doesn't make you want to dance. Thus, Konami cut out that intro because

1) It would have made the song too long for DDR standards (Perfect for ITG though)

2) It was the least upbeat part of the song

So yeah, I understand it's a 12th stream, but it's still very mellow.

Yep...8th note triplets=12ths, 16th note triplets=24ths, etc.
