I started on Light mode on my friend's Konamix and Max. We always played multiplayer, so I never got kicked out of the song anyway. _________________

Yes, I find it boring sometimes too! Back in my days, they never had BEGINNER mode! I like things harder, but I can never do the hard songs... BEGINNER's ok, but I don't really like it so much as the harder levels...!! |

Beginner Mode in the arcade has and serves its purpose. It not only explains the steps, but gives characters to mimic, plus show indication of when exactly to step. It's not suppose to show every aspect of the game like how to turn your body, how to keep your feet on the arrows instead of resting/resetting back to the middle. In the home version of the game, yea, all that can be broken down and explained. Because you have nothing but time, no line of people waiting to play or anything like that.
Most people don't want to make fools of themselves in front of others, especially on a game that is suppose to simulate dance, which is why they go or play when the arcade or where ever is empty. So how is a person suppose to learn and improve while playing alone when they fail at the same part of a song? Who wants to constantly spend money on a game and never make any progress? No one does.
That was a problem that most people had and Konami addressed. You can't get anyone interested and wanting to play a game that they can't ever seem to improve at. |

Back in my day (DDRMAX), we didn't have any beginner mode. We had to start on Light mode weather we liked it or not. You newbies really have it made these days, why back then if you couldn't do light mode, you couldn't play DDR, and there was no complaining about it. |

Well I'm kinda inbetween. I just wish I started out at light first like all of you have. Beginner mode is okay. I played DDRE2 first and had to learn from there. In about 2 months I was doing Heavy. |

begginer mod is most certanily not a waste of time or money. There are so many people that just plays the game and leaves, unlike us DDRFREAKS we stay for a very long time? And say if the person never played the game and wants to do begginer because he\she knows the game will be hard, so they take baby steps just like we did on the machine. Thats what I say. _________________
