I'm a Arcade player as much as I can be, but getting to some machine locations is a treck sometimes. I consider myself to be an avid doubles player and wanted to set something up for my house to continue practice.

So basicly, what kind of pads would be best suited for some doubles home play? Would modding two foam pads be the way to go? I'm personally thinking I'd perfer something metal, but I'm wondering how long they'll last with me playing on heavy.

Any suggestions, ideas, or info, would be greatly appreciated.

You simply can't get any soft/foam pads because during doubles they would drift apart. Also, you can't feet the arrows with foam pads so I can't imagine playing doubles and not knowing where I am.

Most metal pads (AFAIK just about every single one) suck. I've heard horrible stories about the TX series (Not to mention again the surface is flat so it can't be used for arcade practice well) and I own a broken RO Afterburner.

Like every "which pad is the best" threads, a Cobalt Flux is your only decent choice (A doubles kit with 2 arcade mods). Unless you feel like playing a flat surface or having your pad break down. After shipping and the arcade mods it's going to set you back around $700. If you bitch about how you can't afford it, I recommend you just use whatever pad you have now and save up rather than blow a couple hundred on crappy metal pads.

definately go with a flux, or two. Easily the best pads, and also most reliable pads on the market
