was wondering, what do you guys use for a bar? (if you dont actually own one)
like whats some good aroudn the house items that can be a subtitue for a bar? currently im using a fold out chair, puttin that behind my pad and using that as a bar, but its kind of low so it feels awkward and i end up leaning into it more (whcih hurts hands and pushes pad away)
i was thinking of using my banister, unfortunetly i cant take that out nor can i put my pad in front of it cuz theres no computer there, lol
so was wondering what some other people might use?
or whatever ideas you guys have!
i had an idea of puttin things under my chair to raise the height, but i dont know what wil work, that wont like topple the chair over when i play.
ps i dont like to bar rape msot songs, but i honestly do like to bar rape when i try a fast song like the MAXs and etc, it saves a lot more of my stamina (imo)
though i do and i try to learn to do those songs w/o a bar just its tiring and im just lookin for some fun. |

Well, I use a regular chair, like a dining chair. It's a little short, but it works for me. I have it pushed up against a large sofa chair that doesn't move. I also have a large dumbbell on top of the chair just so it can't tip or anything. I push my pad right up against the chair.
Chairs are your best bet. If you plan on going out and buying a chair just for the purpose of DDR, make sure the height is right for you. _________________

i suck it up and dont use bars because i like the idea of increasing my balance.
Anyhow, when i did use bars(until i realized its not gonna help me very much), i pushed a sofa chair behind me. It wasn't the greatest, but it worked.
Ever since i started not using the bar, ive found i've gotten much better with my balance at both the arcade and at home. _________________

J-POP, i tottaly understand what you mean, i love not using the bar when i want to "train" myself
but i wanna use the bar first for some songs, so then (im the stubborn kind) i know i CAN do that song and i can practice at it and then grow out of the bar for that song, cuz as of right now i cant pass max 300 and its pissing me off cause i know i can, with the bar it seems like it helps alot, after i learn it with, ima deffinetly practice with out it, i already am on my pad, but it wears me out faster, if i can pass it with the bar, in my head i can relax better. |

i use a plastic chair thats about the same height as the bar, then i push the chair up against my couch, so the chair doesnt move. then i put the pad an inch infront of the chair and it seems to work well
btw i have a soft pad and it moves around alot :\ a pain in the neck because it moves alot |

I have a similar problem, my Cobalt Flux is attached to the floor, so I have to move my futon behind my CF rather than move my CF over to the futon _________________
