Nothing is too Japanese-y for America, except when america butchers otherwise cool anime (dragonball, inuyasha)
wait....X-play knows what Japan is??? wow, I now have changed their IQ from 5 to 5.2 _________________

I don't think X-Play is bad. But I don't watch the shows for accurate reviews. I just watch it for the humor. If I want an accurate review I'll just play the game myself and see if I like it. Or use the internet if I can't rent it.
I did like G4 before all this drift racing and fastlane crap though. I do agree that the channel is going way downhill. |

the humor is stupid. LOLZZZ we mocked the music of the game LOLZZZZ!!
i dont watch a video game review show for comedy, thats like watching the superbowl for the halftime show. i watch it for good reviews. Thats what judgement day had and xplay doesnt. _________________

you know, I am going to say that I thoroughly enjoy x-play, whether or not the hosts are completely ignorant to the music genre or not. We're all entitled to our opinions, and to be honest, I don't think we need two threads about you hating guitar hero.
Also, I like guitar hero. Just because it doesn't cater to your j-pop needs doesn't mean its terrible. You want your j-pop and all? go to japan. This is america, and I think guitar hero catered well to the majority of its customers. Red Octane was aiming to make fans of american rock happy, not some kid who's probably obessed with japan and anything oriental. _________________

just because i happen to like j-pop music doesn't mean i wanna move to japan, i quite like having my own little music world i look at that few people in the US knows exists yet its HUGE over in the land of the rising sun.
I quite like living in america. From everything to the huge obesity problems and the government being bored(haha freedom fries, good one mr president!), i like it here.
Anyhow. here are some more things i have against GH.
1. There's no way to see how accurate you are
2. You can't add your own little sections in the song(like in beatmania sometimes i like hitting keys during pauses in the song.....tehe)
3. Lack of VARIETY in the songlist. When i say variety, i mean different AMERICAN music. I mean, i would love some real heavy metal(not death metal...but heavy metal....think dragon force) in a guitar game....here its pretty much classic rock covers and a few crappy covers of new songs(STELLAR MADE ME CRY!!).
4. Star Power=retarded
5. No speed mods.
6. poopy pack-in controller(then again, it IS redoctane). _________________

The fact of the matter is, you are knocking a game jut because it does not cater to YOUR needs. You shouldn't be criticizing a game on the basis that it does not cater to your needs because that's not a good reason, especially when you have two threads about it. seriously, you want j-pop and all? import some games. Just don't take it out on highly popular and successful games.
Also, you can prove your supposed superiority to GH and just avoid it. If its so bad, why are you giving it so much attention?
Oh, and let me address these reasons of yours:
1. There's no way to see how accurate you are
Its a game. get over it. if you're playing GH because you want to get better at playing a song on a guitar, then you need to smarten up.
2. You can't add your own little sections in the song(like in beatmania sometimes i like hitting keys during pauses in the song.....tehe)
The whole game tries to simulate playing a guitar, IN A PERFORMANCE. Maybe you haven't played the game enough before you started mouthing it off to know that your character is performing to an audience. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to be playing random notes in between parts of my performance.
Oh, maybe you've been mouthing off too much to realize that RO is coming out with like, seven or so GH games this year and next year that vary in music genres. Did you expect them to get everything right on their first try? This is Red octane, the people who published ITG. After seeing how ITG wasn't too successful, I'd be careful when it comes to another music game.
4. Star Power=retarded
Elaborate.
5. No speed mods.
Like I said, its trying to simulate real guitar playing. If you like to speed up your song playing on your guitar in RL, then by all means, go ahead. Just remember, this isn't DDR. Just because it didn't have something that was in DDR doesn't mean that it fails in a certain aspect.
6. poopy pack-in controller(then again, it IS redoctane).
Elaborate, because I can't understand the reason. Are you referring to packaging? _________________

No. The Guitar Hero 1 playlist is awesome. Motorhead, Sabbath, Hendrix, Queens of the Stone Age, Bad Religion - how diverse do you want the damn game? Of the songs they announced for the second game, they have a damn PSYCHOBILLY song in the game, something 99% of the people who buy this game have never heard a song from that genre in their life.
So basically, your main complaint is that there's no Dragonforce? As retarded as this complaint is, I would place a strong bet on Dragonforce being in GHII, as an interview with them is on the front page of the guitar hero website.
All of your other complaints are just in the vein of "guitar hero is no the same as beatmania", and have been adequately responded to by Roxas. _________________

no the controler feels light and flimsy and the G1 controller is very unsensitive compaired to the ones that came in wave 3 and later _________________

Well, think about it. They improved them, no? Not everything starts out perfect. Konami still has shitty pads, and they've been around for awhile. besides, I think the comfort problem lies with the person using the controller. I had the game before I sold it, and I had no comfort problem with the controller.
But as you said, the G1 one is unsensitive compared to the ones that came in later, which means that they improved it. _________________

I'm gonna borrow the game from my friend. I won't judge the game until I play it. Blindly loving a game or blindly hating a game is bad. Actually hating something, blindly or not, is usually bad. |

i expect a cheap dance pad to suck, but by judging from the US beatmania controller pack-in controllers dont have to suck.
well, if dragon force is in GH2, I MUST PLAY!! i have to say, GH2 looks semi promising....i just hope they allow you to disable star power and have it not effect your score and have a better scoring system. i never said GH has no potential, i just said the first game had too many flaws for it to be considered a good music game. _________________

Considering the company that made it, and what they had to work with, it was a damn fine game. Trial and error, which is why part 2 is going to be better. You have to play these games with an open mind, and not just think "GUITAR FREAKS RIPOFF LAAAME". _________________

the first time i played guitar hero i didnt know guitar freaks exsisted.
then shortly after searching for guitar hero songlist i found guitar freaks and im like "wtf." then i realized GH was a GF ripoff, but thats not why i hate it.
i mean i like DDR and PIU, both have about as many differences as GF and GH, but i dont know if i like GF and dont like(at this point) GH.
GH2 actually looks like it has potential, with a wider variety of rock songs than the original. Now, if only they could put some j-rock in there they would be in business. _________________

Yeah. When I saw that, this is basicaly what happened.
(thinking: You idiots.)
Yeah. G4 is like a term essay dropped in the ocean. It just isn't good anymore. I mean, the good hosts (imo) disapeared faster than you can say "lol". The good shows went as well. I rather preferred having both review shows on, so that I have more than one opinion to base my descisions from. Also. Filter-Mizota=NO. I miss Cory Rouse too. A tear comes to my eye when I see a rerun of a Rouse-Cheat!, because Mrs. Holt just... isn't punny enough. I would rant on, but, sleep is one of the precious resources of the world, and this dude's quite depleted. _________________

I saw the review for the game a little while ago. Yeah I got mad at what they said...but then again who the hell reviews the games? If it's someone who's never played a bemani game before then they probably got frustrated as hell when they sucked balls at it. The guitar hero line was utter bs, but then again music games are a niche in gaming. They didn't know any better, and just thought Beatmania was a new thing.
The show itself is sometimes funny. But at other times it is a little too caustic for my tastes. Besides they gave MGS 3 a 4/5. That was a fucking travesty imo. _________________

Didn't they give Halo a bad score? I find the humor on their great, but don't depend on their reviews.
The only way you can fully hate or love a game is you play it yourself, not letting someone else review it & tell you how bad or good it is. You need to play it yourself. |

I doubt its even Adam and Morgan who write the reviews. I think they have other people who play the games and write them. Adam and Morgan just read what others have written, hell they even do the show reading from a telepromter. They are just there for show. and Adam is by far not something I consider Eye candy. Grown man acting so stupid and childish.
and ya i stoped watching G4 when it became G4. Its just turning into another spike TV. Probably getting more ratings showing stuff the pop culture kids wanna see. Selling out on us for money. _________________

yeah, G4 pretty much is Spike TV. Ever since star trek started airing it all came together....i mean we got the man show and all those random late night shows like that sock the party sock or w/e. the only entertaining shows are gamemakers(which was icons...i dont get why they changed it) and i like braniac a bit, its one of those shows i enjoy because useless facts are always fun. _________________
