Well, Betson has already said that the only software that works properly is the JP software. That's what the new US update is going to be based on.

So whenever that's released, just get a patch disc and that should fix your problems. Though, I'm not sure how hard getting a patch disc is going to be.

Wait... so Konami basically made two different SN's? I thought the JP, US, and UK software were all the same except for the main language. I guess not if the JP one works perfectly and the US ones have the problems.
Also, what you are saying is that for the patch they are basically taking the JP version and just adding the English translations to it?
I'm confused lol.

From my understanding the UK and US releases were developmental. The software wasn't complete until the JP version was released. The new update "patch" is supposedly the JP software with a US translation and an extra song.

Ahh.. ok! Thanks.

Why do people hate MAX. (Period)?

Because it sounds like noise.
Because you're stepping to noise.
Because you step to NOTHING at the slowdown.

The slowdown is the only thing not to like. If I had an iPod I'd listen to MAX. (period) on it, as I like the song.

I listen to the song on my PSP. Damn good song. If that's "noise" then I want more of it. E15.gif

Well I have finally experienced the game being offsync, and offsync by ALOT!
No machine out is not offsync, for I thought the one here wasn't, and it was onsync for a while actually, but then started acting up just recently, so yeah don't think right away that your machine isn't offsync.

I assume that you guys know the reason behind the slowdown steps?

1st "boss" song = PARANOiA

Those steps during the slowdown are from the original PARANOiA.

TRIBUTE! Konami probably did this because Max(period) was supposed to be the LAST boss song. A total recap, so to speak.

Tribute or not, you're still stepping to silence, therefore you have to guess when to step, or bring a metronome.

Or you could, you know, have perfect internal tempo and raise the difficulty of the game. I know it's "weird", but when you think about why they're doing it, it's there for a reason, and I believe that's a damn good reason.

qft

During the silence steps and 600 BPM run it's a worthless chart and song.

And before you get all "omg TRIBUTE THOUGH", DDR Oni is one of the best charts in the game and takes it's steps from about 4 different songs.

At least DDR Oni's tribute makes sense. It's using the stepcharts of past DDR songs. Max(period) is tributing paranoia. Why exactly is a Max paying homage to a paranoia? You could argue that paranoias were once the hardest songs in DDR, but, it feels unrelated to me. DDR Oni gets my vote as best tribute.

I think the real arguement is, why are we even bothering to argue about this? Let alone in a thread about how Konami is fixing syncing.

I've played MAX. (period).
You never step to silence?
I AAA'd it on stepmania first time I played and I played just by rhythm. You step to the dun dun dun dun dun dun dun in paranoia, and its there in the song.

And no one should complain about the run.... EXPECIALLY if you play ITG.

I'm not sure if this has happened to anyone else, but I think I may have noticed one of the reasons (if not the main reason) why some songs start off on sync, but then during gameplay, it goes off.

This Saturday, I was playing Polovtsian Dances And Chorus, and as best I can tell, it starts off and remains on sync. However, near the very end, the song skipped...almost like something bumped up against the system. I say this because, yes we all know about the update/patch coming, but this seems more hardware related than anything else, if the system/disc(s) skip causing songs to go off. I didn't notice this happening on other songs, but I did notice that un deux trois went a lil' off after the stop.

As a sidenote, has anyone been able to confirm whether the "new" song will in fact be the Flow remix with this patch, or is that just the first unlock found in JP? I know there is another rumor about what the new song will be, but I know we're hearing conflicting reports.

Guys, please shut up about the new song. Everyone. No one but Konami knows what it is, and I think it is pointless to argue about it until we find out what it is.

This thread is about the patch that Konami will be supplying to arcade operators to fix the synch issues in supernova.

Totally.

So, is the patch only for machines that have already been manufactured/shipped? I mean, are they going to actually fix the problem in future cabinets (that have yet to be manufactured) before shipping them out, or are they just going to ship the patch alongside the cabinets and make the arcade operators install it themselves when it arrives?

Dont you have to connect the machine to the internet? i could be completely wrong this is just what I heard. If thats true, It think some arcade owners are going to be lazy and skip it.

The only reason people complain about the run is the fact that OMG IT'S 600BPM and they can't read it.

In the slowdown, you don't step to nothing. You step to the basic beat of paranoia which is audible in the backround. And for all of you who say the song is terrible, actually listen to the song and realize that this is a Max song in it's prime which captures the essence of "pure speed" IMO.

Does that bother anyone else?

oh by the way the japanese cabinets are the only ones that work, lol."

wtf USA, you are supposed to have the best of everything. Thats what everyone on TV says, so why is it that you can't make a simple arcade game work right? Konami... stop being douches and give us the unlocks and how to unlock them, I'm tired of paying to play Nonstop to play FaXX or having to AA everytime to play Healing-D-Vision and Chaos. There is no point to it at all.

And when did this become about songs and shyt?? uhmm last time I checked, this was about the fix to the game. Yea swt they are bringing another song to the game, woop dee doo. If you should be talking about any songs, it should be about the many songs that MIGHT be on the machine that we have NO IDEA on how to unlock. not a clue.
