Yes but those charts were done by a completely different bemani team. I was talking about beatmania US, not RED. RED is not released in the US. If Konami released anything in the US they would probably use a crappy 4 mix too old team. Kthx

Think about what makes Pop'n Music... the music right.

What is the music? J-pop and such that most guys in America would consider girly or gay.

So you just lost half of the people that own consoles (minus the 1% of guys who realize that it's not gay). Plus a lot of girls probably wouldn't like it.

Now, so if you put different music into Pop'n would it be the same game? No. Pop'n is Pop'n because of the music and general "gayness" of it. It's fun and colorful and that wouldn't fly over here. Change it from that and you lose the entire fanbase.

We can dream, but I don't see it happening.

I refer you to DDR. It is successful here. Your point loses.

DDR doesn't have "girly" songs or bright colorful girly interfaces.

A Beautiful Collision, your right. That would never go over here, unforunatly. I guess I'll just have to wait to get a JP PS2. It'll take forever though X( And even when I have it, I'll still have to import a Pop'n controller and a game, which I can imagine will cost a lot.

I'm gonna have to agree. It's just too Japanese. Then again, Ouendan is coming over here....But what songs would they have on our version? You can't think of enough Americanese songs to go along w/ Pop'N. Sadly, I don't think enough Americanese people would buy it & enjoy it. (Unless they're big J-Pop fans. Like us on DDR Freak). As much as I want it over here, I just don't think it's gonna happen, sadly....

I'm sure they can round up enough songs from the Pop'n Music series to make a good american one.

There's plenty of DDR songs from it, there's Tank! and Lupin the 3rd, plenty of songs that don't have any lyrics in them (100 sec. kitchen, Gabba, Beyond the Earth, etc etc). The Classics would probably do well here (reason I wanted to try it in the first place). Wide variety of genres to have something everyone would like, (from Fantasy to Mixture).

I'd think if there were more Arcade machines around, or a better home controller to package with it (other than the mini) they should do it. But I'm just getting my hopes up.

But would you want a Popn music with nothin but instrumental songs and alot of classics. Personally The only good I could see happening is if they add songs to Pop'n and not take any of them away.

Have you ever PLAYED ddr? I mean it does have a VERY bright colorful interface... but it's much less girly than people think it is. Once you've played the game, you realize most of the songs and steps are far from girly...
