out of all the dance games, which one do you think has the best interface? When i say interface i mean like themes in stepmania. just NO NAMING SM THEMES! but anyhow, i'd say that my favorite is DDR extreme 2's interface. It was simple, easy to use, and effective.

So which mix of any dance game is your pick?

I'd have to say Extreme (JP/AC...not US, obviously). Everything works the way it should.

I don't like Ex2's interface as much because it takes more time to pick the mods and because you can't see the difficulty level on the results screen.

The ones that have the good ol' normal song select style, like EX AC, or EX2, unlike EX PS2 or UM2 & 3.

Since you said ANY dance games, ITG2. It's very informative, and thus good.

Toss-up between Max/Max2 and Extreme US. Extreme 2 was flashy and nice, but you could only view a single grade at once and the BPM was written really small.

Max/Max2 are about the same besides colors, so it depends on what kind of mood you're in.

Extreme US has the kinda retro thing going on with the sideways songlist, and I like seeing all the difficulties at the same time. Plus, it had great menu music, I like the chrome touches, and some of the side menus (like Nonstop/Challenge) were very nice-looking.

My absolute favorite interface is, without thinking, SuperNOVA. It's just so awesome. The songwheel alone owns the entire DDR EXTREME interface. However, I miss the difficulties being Light Standard and Heavy.

My second favorite is DDR EXTREME 2's. It has it's ups and downs, but overall, I think it's a really nice interface.

My third favorite is the ITG 2 interface. It looks nice and gets the job done.

correction: i played supernova today, and it wins.

ITG 1+2 have decent/well working interfaces, but they arent flashy or cool enough. They just are sorta "we work well."

The ITG interfaces mean business. The DDR interfaces mean FUN!!

Am I the only one who thinks a useful interface is better than a "cool-looking" one?

ITG kicks the shit out of DDR in that department.

best to worst

DDRMAX/MAX2
EX2
EX
...i have yet to play any others, but the SN interface (which i have as a background on my computer) looks much better than the ones i've played/seen previously. DDREX JP looks decent as well.(although i've only seen screenshots)

Navigating SN's interface is like the most aggravating thing I can think of. Even putting in mods in PIU's interface feels like less of a hassle than SN. If I had to pick one from DDR it'd be whatever name you call Max through Extreme, since they're all the same anyway. Even if ITG's interface is "boring," I'll take "boring and informative" over "flashy and infuriating" any day.

Ultramix 3

Seriously, ITG2, since its the most functional (Why doesn't DDR show all of the stepchart difficulties on one screen?) also, unless theres some way I don't know about in DDR, I like how I can go back up the mod menu with the red button. Plus the arrow that bounces to the beat is hardcore.

5thMIX did. And I would've much rather kept that feature then gotten the groove radar that I've not once used. The groove radar doesn't really tell me what I want to know about a song. The only time it's told me how hard a song was, was the first time I scrolled over MAX 300. I wanted to see how hard it was in Heavy, so I put it in Heavy (I was still in Light at the time) and said "Wow it made the bubble get really big it must be super hard"
