For one, that isn't a specific pattern, so it is ambiguous what you dislike about them. I assume the stream or the footspeed.
Two, that is a pretty dumb generalization. There are many 9's that act a lot like 8's like for example Irresistiblement or Kakumei. Do you hate those stepcharts? My Summer Love is another 9 that shouldn't be a 9.
Also, as much as i understand that this is your opinion and that you yourself do not like the higher end stepcharts, the high end stepcharts are often the ones that make you feel like you are dancing because they make you finally go the footspeed of real dancers. |
People like you shouldn't go into public. My Summer Love is a 9 because of the 2 16th streams in it. Most people say it isn't hard because they put it on 3X speed. Try it on 1X. They were rated for the ORIGINAL speed. I think Irresistiblement is a 9 because of those stupid gallops. And EotC should be an 8.
But I HATE gallops. I do really good sometimes, but miss one and I fail. Like on R&P, or Tsugaru.

Ok, first understand that there is no point insulting me for that post. Trust me, these forums of full of REAL flaming, so if you can't deal with my other post, you need to grow a thicker skin for DDRFreak.
Also, as my OPINION, I find My Summer Love no harder than Afronove Oni....an 8 if you remember....EVEN on x1. It is not all that hard to read.
If Irresistiblement is a 9 because of gallops, then why aren't a plethra of other 8's bumped to 9 such as In the Navy or SPeed Over Beethoven. ESPECIALLY Speed Over Beethoven because the stepchart idea is decently similar to Irresistiblement which in fact was rated a 9.
And finally, why should they put EotC as an 8 if they are keeping Saints Go Marching as a 9 which is again, a very similar stepchart idea.
And it keeps on getting more inconsistant. EotC and Saints are 9's, yet Daikenkai Oni is an 8??
In summary, the rating system isn't completely flawless, so my point of comparing certain 9's to 8's isn't unreasonable.

Also note they were rated for the first time you play them. Those difficulty ratings are rendered useless after you play them. Hahaha.

Step jumps are evil, but jackhammers at fast speeds (i.e. CSFIL ~SM~) always kill me. Trills are also sometimes evil to me, but it depends on the speed they're at.
On the other hand, I'm in love with gallops. And crossovers. <3

True trills don't really exist in DDR because, well, nothing in DDR is fast enough.
A trill is essentially extremely fast footwork on only 2 arrows like U,L,U,L etc.
THe thing is, I don't even call it a trill until is half-again as fast as Max300's streams. The closest thing to a trill in DDR is Maximizer Heavy, but a better example would be in songs like Euphoria, HotN, or Sweet World (Oh noez! ITG in the DDR forum)

step-step-jump patterns annoy me. case in point, DXY! heavy and stoic heavy. DXY! is somewhat do able because of the slower bpm. but stoic is just plain crappy with the patterns they throw at you. what song would want you to do a stream repeatedly and jump every 2-3 steps? oh, and sudden stops too.

I think my best point was Speed Over Beethoven when compared to Irresistiblement or Daikenkai Oni compared to Saints Go Marching or EotC
But remember, jammys is holier than us and is never wrong. After all, we questioned the rating system. People like us shouldn't "go in public" as he said.

Those are candle steps, and I'm guessing that he dislikes them because they're hard to execute at high speeds (compared to steps that don't involve moving your foot across the center panel), not because he doesn't know how to do them. |
AA Bob's right on that. Try turning it sideways and you got an expert Vertex pattern from ITG.
