Beatmania/IIDX/III thread (baby you're solid GOLD)

The Kakumei song notes on the Konami 7th AC page talk about how Kakumei was "originally the last boss song on DDR" or something to that effect.

Anyhow, the way that I've always assumed things went were like this:

DDRMAX2 and IIDX 7th style were under development simultaneously. Needing more songs to fill out each game's songlist, they used a completed song from 7th style to put in DDR (Burning Heat) and a completed song from DDR to put in 7th style (Kakumei). They also served as a kind of cross-advertising as an added bonus, kind of like the cross-game unlockables on the recent PS2 releases.

That page says that Naoki actually came to TAKA and asked: Want to create a revolution? It also states: "the song was originally intended for DDR, with the title of "Revolution." But, we managed to persuade all eyes to place this into IIDX also, as hidden songs in both games. And after an almost impossible adjustment to the [production] schedule, we have us 'Kakumei.'

Naoki did the piano performance and basic track, while Taka finished it up with orchestrational arrangements.

"Even though the name became dj TAKA with NAOKI, this tune is still for DDR."

EDIT:// Also, in note of crossovers and such... it wasn't just Burning Heat and Kakumei...

IIDX 7th Style got D2R and Destiny while MAX2 got Burning Heat (3-Option Mix) and I feel...

Alright! Welcome me to the RED club because my copy of IIDX:RED just came in today

! Man, this interface is "f"ing sexy as hell too! The one thing, albeit minor, I like about it so far is that the attract mode is like a jukebox; (looks at screen) it's on Speedy Cat now! This brings my IIDX collection (including BMUS) to 11 now; I still don't possess 4th Style yet

. Now let's see how many 7Keys I can pass.

Woah, this forum's been dead for a week, eh? Anyways here's a question that's been piquing my curiousity on IIDX RED. What do those gearshift and airplane icons suppose to mean under some of the song titles before the song begins playing? Also, I made progress in completing 4 of the expert courses on 7key. Hooray for me!

AFAIK, The Strong Jaeger is only on IIDX 8th Style. I *think* the song itself is on the 7th Style OST, which may be what MadVash is thinking of.

Thanks for the help. I was looking all over the place trying to find out which style that was on since I played it on the Distorted machine at TGA before. God I suck at that song.

The Strong Jaeger was on 6th and 8th CS

The little icons under some of the song names are there because the videos are part of a series.

oh well, I thought lisu played the another.

anyway, in case noone checks bemanistyle, play-asia.com has 9th for $40 and RED for $50. I know I'm getting RED, but the question is, should I get 9th? All I've got is 7th and 10th. I havent heard anyone really say anything about 9th.
