I'm a really nice guy so if someone starts shadowing me I just let them...until they totally frick up my combo and I can't even hear the song. Then I politely ask them to stop, and they usually do. If not I just annoyed but play on a hard song like Maxx Unlimited or Max 300 so they can't even keep up with me...Yeah, it's sad that I'm the best one at my arcade and I can only get a B on Max 300 biggrin.gif

I assure you, the vid is not staged. This is a kid that frequents my local arcade and often makes a huge scene. He's punched me more than once for taunting him, as well as collapsed to the floor hilariously after playing hard songs. Once, he let out a huge war cry when he passed energizer expert double for the first time. Everyone looked at him really funny and just laughed.

He's really against shadowers. As far as I can tell, he doesn't even like people playing versus with him, but that might be just because he doesn't want to lose.

o_O Whoa.

I'm glad he can defend himself, but his violence isn't cool, and your taunting is even worse.

I hate shadowers and dislike versus because I always play for score/AAAs. The kid might have a similar philosophy, so leave him alone.

I hate shadowers, a lot. If they're shadowing me, I really just ignore them until the song is over and I tell them to get off. I've never had an ordeal where a shadower was mocking me and started hitting me or anything, but I guess if that did happen I'd just push em off.

Never had to deal with shadowers, but i do have to deal with spoiled brats around my local arcade (Robinson Mall's one).

Had some little brat in my ear saying stupid sh!t about me messing up while i was trying to full combo Rhythm and Police on standard (not a heavy player yet, least not on that song laugh.gif ). Once the song was over, i turned around and said "Do you want to live to see puberty?"; kid had to be at most 9 or 10, and rather...well...fat E13.gif . Needless to say, he shut up and backed off real quick.

As for what this kid does; i can understand not liking shadowers, but welcome to the real world kid. There's always going to be pricks and jackasses out there who will make fun of you, no matter what you do. And punching people just because you get taunted? Son, that's gonna get you a trip to the ER when you do that to the wrong person

Just had to make my little stand there; time for some beer! biggrin.gif

Once, when I was playing some ITG, this kid, maybe fourteen or fifteen years of age, got up on the 2P side and did not do anything, he just stood there and took a looooong gander at me. The I realized how genius that was, he knew that us machine-danca types of people usually expect the shadowee to go crazy on the shadower. It made me insane, but then he started to do this whole river dance thing, and look like a complete jackass. So when the marathon was betwixt songs, I turn to him and ask if he would like to have sex with me (another male mind you), and he just slimed away like the vermin he is.

I got in major trouble with some kid's parents because he wanted to shadow me and when he couldn't do the song, he decided to stick his foot in my path on the left side arrow. Well I was wearing big black skechers and he's wearing sandals, so when my foot came down on his toes, it made a noise similar to crushing crackers in ur hands. If it wasn't for the onlookers I would've gotten sued for negligence or something. I ended up shattering his little toe and breaking the bones in his other toes as well.

Another gripe I have with shadowers is when I finish a song, they happen to put their hands near the buttons and start picking a song out for me or accidentally press the Start button or some stuff....

I'm used to people insulting me or trying to make me mess up by screaming at me or making funny faces and I had this one dude try tackling me but I saw it coming and he ended up spearing himself into the bar...LOL

LOL me and someone else waiting for our turn. So what we did was change this girl's difficulty. We did this because she keep showing off by shadowing and cutting in front of others.

The kid deserve what he got. Shouldn't put his hands where it can be stomped on.

They should of keep an eye out on their kid.

People shadow for fun.
People shadow to annoy you.
People shadow to show off.
People shadow to look silly.

I really don't know.

If someone says,"NO"
NO MEANS NO!!!

*Sigh...

Next time, Push them off the pad.

I trip over some guy who was shadowing me.
Then the guy push me off the pad and I lay on a kid.

The kid started to cry. Then cop saw the part where the guy push me off the pad.

Then my friends told the cops that the guy was bothering me when I told him to stop shadowing me.

I could really care less if some little tries to shadow next to me, unless its a distraction. But one time i was playing ITG and this group of what looked like college kids just happened to notice me playing. They started to giggle and one of them jumps up on the 2nd pad and started goin crazy on the pad (obviously making fun of me disturb.gif ).Then they went into a hysterical laugh. I decided to stop them from laughing by playing a 12. I could tell it worked cause they did stop laughing and i could hear one of them mumbling "I can't even see that!" When i finished one of them jumped up on the pad and gave me a tootsie roll. laugh.gif WTF. Depends on the maturity of the onlookers i guess. But I think almost everyone is going to shadow you so your just gonna have to deal with it. E1.gif

Let's see...

About a year or so ago, at my old arcade, some Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG (oh, the irony!) players started calling me a nerd when I was playing 321 Stars or some other 8. One of the other guys (who actually used to play DDR Heavy disturb.gif) jumped up and starting spinning in circles, hitting random arrows. I just ignored them, and they left shortly after.

Too bad that doesn't always work, some people are stupid enough to believe that once you have vacated one pad temporarily that it's okay for them to get on said pad and do whatever the idiot people that mock us like to do.

I love all these bragging stories from online kids who wanna act tough.

"He was shadowing me so I intensely glared at him with my macho looks and he ran away."

"He was shadowing me so I put it on pandemonium reverse and he was too impressed by my 1337 skillz to shad0w me anymore."

"He was shadowing me so I pushed him off and, even though I was still foolishly playing wide open to any counter, he realize that the harder the song I play the bettet the fighter I must be so he backed off."

bragging on the intraweb laugh.gif
