that lazytown show changed my life....i swear ever since i saw that show ive never been able to sleep.....nightmares about creepyass puppets coming to rape me....

anyways who really gives a rats buttocks about ddr becoming popular? as long as the songlist doesnt sell out i dont care. So what if the shows stupid? at least its publicity. As long as DDR doesnt becoming halo the hype machine im ok. In fact, i think its sorta neat because now i can be all "ive been playing for 2 years" on their asses. May 21st marks my 2 years of DDRing...with 6 month break nov 2004-april 2005 due to me not getting a pa

and the guy who said stuff about obecity; amen! I actually am wanting more people to get into DDR because 1) it helped me become thinner, heck now im really thing and 2) it gives parents an outlook that video games arent all about shooting prostitutes and running over people.

DDR is good for EVERYBODY!! its truly the game that deserves to be rated E!!! ive never met a person who I showed DDR to that didnt have a good time with it, heck ive made DDRfreaks out of a few of them!

It's not more or less that I'm complaining versus just being damn confused E19.gif

How can you promote DDR when you're...not...playing...DDR (or what it sounds like, hardly even SHOWING it)

Am I missing something? laugh.gif

As long as there are still hard songs that give me excersize, I don't care what these companies do.

Huh...

I liked this idea better when it was called "Dance 360".

Very little good can come out of this. I think it just sucks for those in the DDR community who actually played/danced/freestyled to build it to where it is today. It's not like they could have a hand in helping something like this be successful. And trust us... we KNOW entertainment!

Ah well... Solo sucks anyway.

this is basically a "so you think you can dance?" and Starcade.
And the "Kid-Friendly" bit scares me.

Awww come on? There's no love for the show at all in here.

You know what? I think the show will be fantastic. The "No actually DDRing" kinda sucks, but I could still see it being the greatest thing ever. Turning it into Yugioh? That wouldn't be a bad thing! Look what could happen!

Bad Guy : Muhahaha. You stand no chance at all. Your friends have failed because they were too out of shape to defeat me and now they're all trapped in my evil lair forced to play Let Them Move nonstop!

Good Guy : You vile fiend! I will defeat you with my Millenium Puzzle! Deep within is the secret to saving the universe!

*Good guy pulls out the stepchart for Sexy Planet, drawn on a 5000 year old stone tablet, though it'd have to be called Fairly Good Looking Planet, kids show and all. Then the music starts*

Bad Guy : Gah! I have never heard such a powerful force!

*Bad guy is banished to the shadow realm. Konami representative appears and tells children that if they excercise daily that one day they too can save the universe with their DDR skills*

Who couldn't possibly love that? I would buy the series on DVD!

Great idea Konami. Thumbs up.

And the way the article was written, it's more than likely not gonna turn out like that.

DDR Anime could work, but sadly, this aint it.

depends on the anime style...if its a "ultra happy" anime like inuyasha(the show was made for 8 year old girls goddammit!) then it would just piss me off...actually, anime DDR is a terrible idea! thats like making an anime about a kid who plays WoW all day except maybe not that terrible....

you cant make an anime about people playing a video game.... you might as well go watch someone play the game in real life...its stupid. You could make an anime that happens to feature DDR, but not an anime based on DDR.

and look at the shows DIC made...are any of them good? They were all really stupid and simple...but i do remember watching sonic and mario...even tho i watched them a few years ago and realized how terrible they were...

Threads like these are the reason I don't come to chit-chat. Really, people take the time to read and com eup with nformed (or at least witty) conclusions. For your info:

People won't be playing DDR on this show, at least not as the feature. I'm not saying it couldn't be filler or a "Let's see how this kid does!" at the commercial break. I'm just saying the focus isn't on ddr, nor is there any guarantee there will be a ddr machine at all. The game will feature kids and teens performing various dances to music, which we assume will be a band playing Konami Originals in some form or another (probably not licenses because of licensing issues).

The show is intended to encourage kids to get fit, thus where Konami comes in. The show will be a running ad for DDR. There will probably be DDR commercials and the host will probably talk about it. The on screen cues will probably be similar to arrows in ddr, though obviously different to better fit into the "follow along dance" idea (this is all speculation though).

This show, if it gains any recognition, will bring more people to DDR. It doesn't have much of a chance of turning people away, because most people who will know about it will either be kids awake at 7 in the morning and people on DDR Freak and similar websites. Thus more people will buy the home version, more arcade units will be sold (though this probably be effected as much as CS sales).

So yeah, just remember, THERE'S NOONE PLAYING DDR ON THIS SHOW!!! and please read.

Earlier in the topic, I wrote:
Kinda sounds like a rip-off of LazyTown, that weird show featuring an athlete encouraging little kids to be healthy and fit, instead of being lazy.

Not only does this show seem like the next LazyTown, it IS.

CBS's Saturday Morning Secret Slumber Party is replacing Nick Jr. on CBS.

Nick Jr. on CBS has a show promoting healthy living, known as LazyTown.
CBS's Saturday Morning Secret Slumber Party, on the other hand, will have a show promoting healthy living, known as Dance Revolution. See the similarity?

Nick Jr. on CBS is to LazyTown as CBS's Saturday Morning Secret Slumber Party is to Dance Revolution.
