If its on Ebay it's usually Not a great deal.. however they don't look that bad if your local EB doesn't have any foam insert pads available (at least you can return to them if it breaks right?) _________________

Hmm...well, it's from a company...err....
I actually have no idea if my EB has some Foam inserts, but if they do, won't it be much more expensive?
How long might these last me? I do 7-9 footers...but theres two of em. My soft pad barely lasted a month...lol _________________

I actually have have a pad from this guy from Ebay. Even though I payed a little more for my pad ($11) it was really good. I still have it today and works great. _________________

I have a pair of this pad I got from INNEX.COM (ebay seller name). The pad worked well into the low 8 footers then I switched to metal. They still work great for when I hurt my foot or have company over. I would buy them myself if they were 9-box - then I could actually play PIU. |

watch out, the 2.5 auction from innex may not actually be the dense foam, judging by the picture.
i recently got the pads from site76. they came in original packaging from a chinese factory. i wouldn't be surprised if they actually were oem versions of the ignition 3/bns dx since the only difference i could find was the cover graphic.
granted, i'm a ddr noob so i could have missed subtle differences, but for less than $20 per pad shipped it's certainly a much better deal than a flat softpad, and based on the complaints on the ignition 3.0 thread this is probably a better choice (4 for the price of 1). |

Yeah it's an alright deal. I mean, I got my tx1000 on ebay for a total of 60$, and it's as good as a tx1000 can get (in other words it sucks). Just get them. And there also cheap cause no one really cares about softpads _________________

agreed. i figure two of those pads will last long enough for me to decide whether i want to drop money or workshop time on a metal pad, plus the dense foam can still be used as an exercise mat once they are broken. |

Generally, things on eBay are nowhere near brand-new, usually they've been used for a while. RedOctane does make good pads though, so it might be worth it to check it out. _________________

Wrong |
If you're going to contradict me, at least tell me why I'm wrong. Besides, I said "generally" which means most, but not all of the time. _________________

Well, there is a bit of summmary information required for each auction with a binary yes/no for new. Things that are marked as new are new, and if they're not you're covered by paypal or your credit card company depending on your payment method. The way you phrased your comment made it sound like anything one purchases from ebay is rubbish.
Plus, I don't understand why the cheap price of unlabeled ignitions is such a shocker. Anyone build a computer? Sure you have. Notice the price difference between white box processors and retail ones? These are white-box pads. |

Well, with a few calls to 4 of my local EB games and gamestops, I find they have no ignition pads. I think I'll buy these. Not much to lose really, they're only 30 bucks, and theres two of em, which should last at least a month or two...
By then I'll probably be workin on my home made one. _________________

Hah!
check this thread: http://www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=117599
it shows that the ignitions are made by the same chinese company (http://www.topwaycn.com/). judging from the ratings in the ignition 3.0 thread, it sounds like they're worth closer to $20 than $80.... |

It's a hell of a lot better than paying $100 or whatever ridiculous price RO wants anymore for their ignitions.
I always buy mine from ebay, my current set are over a year old, going on a year and a half. Mine are all modified.
Oh and Makilaz, Believe me, I've gotten a lot of NEW things off Ebay, in fact I don't think I've gotten much of anything used from there. All of my ignitions have been new in box and plastic wrap. _________________

Omg its those Dance Pads made by Company!
It retails for $110, but I bet you twice that amount you'll never see one outside of ebay! |

I think I've decided to buy it. It's 30 bucks, if something goes wrong, its not the end of the world. ^.^ _________________
