MT6 One Day Review

Given that it is a little early to give a review of a pad I'v only had for about 12 hours but here goes. The first thing I noticed about the pad was that it wasn't constructed at all like the TX-1000.

The pad is created from nine individual pads and then connected by brackets. The pad is also very sturdy, it hold up well to myself ( I weigh around 230.) The wiring is not a problem as shown below.

Sadly there is no casing for the bottom of the pad but it as well as the control box are wired well.

The sensitivity is superb but then again it's on been a few hours. I barely have to tap the pad with my feet to get it to activate. However it takes a little more pressure to do "Hands" in ITG. In the first hour I A'd Sakura Oni.

All in all this is a great pad, it's only downside being that there is nothing to protect the exposed bottom so a plywood mod is needed if you are going to play on carpet. If you need a cheap pad that function well this one is a great choice. It's $119 before shipping.

i don't quite follow....there's no foil contacts to worry about or something? that would be awesome if that were the case.

Sadly there are still foil contacts. With the sheet metal mod it will be fine in the long run. I still my mod it to use Mending Brackets as the contacts even though that may be dumb. Or I could just perform maintance on it and switch foil.

Um sorry to dissapoint you but... your pad looks like first generation TX1000. The version 1 of TX1000 hadn't the 4 screw desing like the latest model (V3 if I remember right). It had corner brackets like your pad. Its buttom was also similar to your pad. Bunch of rubber caps sticking out. The bad thing with the rubber caps is that your weight is devided to only few spots. In other words: the construction is poor. Those bastards have sold you and crappy version 1 of the super crappy TX1000. Good luck counting days to the day when the pad destroys itself.


There is a small chance that I am wrong, but I am pretty confident that its the V1 of TX1000.

As far as I know, This metal pad is the one of the first version metal pad that you will see. This metal pad introuduced about 4 years ago.

TX 1000 is one metal pad frame and this MT6 metal pad is 9 pieces assembled metal pad.

if one of the part on goes bad, you can still easily fix it with mymybox solomode metal pad model: MT6

If you have a TX Series metal pad, it is very hard to fix it. For example, all of TX series metal pads does not reveal the back part where MT6 metal pad show the wire and back side of the metal pad. you can easily check the cables and fix it.


There are so many differences on TX series metal pads and MYMYBOX MT6 metal pad. MT6 metal is truely made of metal pad where other metal pads are made of wood with metal frame around.

This type of pad is actually a decendant of the first series of metal DDR pads. They came before the TX ANYTHING. The first one I played on 3 years ago sucked and had control wiring issues that caused it to be almost unusable on some PS2's. If your pad doesnt do this then odds are its a newer revision of the same idea. Either way, its not a TX, but its not a new idea.

I am considering buying two of these pads soon and have a few questions. Are the arrows recessed at all? Dose the pad slide much, and do you think it would work well for doubles? Lastly, how is pad still holding up? I’ve been using two foam mats taped together but they’ve been destroyed while learning heavy doubles. This mat seems like a good upgrade for my budget, no CF or AB since I’m getting two. Thanks.

It is pretty much flat... Like a CF so playing will take a day or so to get used to. THe only way to play doubles with these is a get a 67"x67 piece playwood and a 2"x1 and make sure it's 1/2 inch thick and place it between the two pads. Be sure to stay clear of the edges. That can keep you from bending the pad.

The pad is still very responsive. Note don't forget to completely screw in the IDE cord that attaches to the pad's control box. That'll save you some head aches.

It's $119 before shipping. Depending on where you live it will cost between $130-180 possibly more. Mine was $160.54 after the shipping charge. So two would be around $321.08 if I had gotten two. For that price you could get a cobalt flux. It all depends on what you want out of your pad and how much your willing to pay. They work well, there's a video on google of a guy passing Sakura Heavy on one.

stormshadow, have you had any problems with the pad? I just got mine yesterday, and to say the least I am not impressed. It's a poopy wiring job. One of the arrows stopped working, so I had to resolder it. Then I replaced part of the wire with something more heavy duty.

I am going to be returning it, or selling it. I'll post a topic so that if anyone is interested can reply there.

so, do you think this is a good pad for starters? Ive just started playing about month and a half. I wanna get a metal pad that feels like im at an arcade. I think this one looks good for the price, and your review seems good. Im scared about the wiring job tho. I have no idea what would need to be soldered to make it better. im sooo tempted to buying this pad

I bought two of these for doubles play and have had them for about a month now. Frankly I have mixed feelings about this pad. The top is still holding together quite well and still looks great; the exposed bottom however is where the real trouble is. The red and black connectors (shown in the picture) aren’t very secure. I play heavy doubles at 5’8 /135 lbs and they are still holding together pretty well for the price. (2 for $ 327.00 after shipping) Also they’re heavy enough so that they don’t move much. So far only one pad has an up arrow that keeps going out which isn’t too bad.

I’d have to rate this pad a 7.5 /10. Good price for two, nice design, good weight, but the connectors should be more secure.

That thing looks pretty nice, and that's a good price. Too bad I don't even have enough money for one of these.

No problems at all. I had to clean the foil tape so I opted to remove it instead and use sheet metal.
