I'm 20 years old, 5'10, and about 210lbs. I can do all songs on standard, though max300, paranoia 190, max unlimited and the like i cant get more than a B on yet. I can hold my own on a few heavy songs, but for the most part im still a newbie to them.

Heavier people will of coarse have a more difficult time playing the higher difficulties of DDR. Its a matter of conditioning, not stereotyping. An athletic player with a more lithe form is going to be naturally more agile, and quicker than larger players. They, as a result, have more potential than us big guys. Of coarse we can still do the more difficult songs, its just a matter of the players determination to do so.

I'm 15 and 130 lbs. I can clear most 10's with B's or A's easily, but I have an issue with holding freezes.

12 years old (duh) roughly 90 lbs. I'm frustrated because I can't hold freezes... even on an ITG 2 pad. Heavy Max 300 B twice (I know I suck, Get over it)

Well that is a cool, its not too surprising if you can beat other double 10's because Max300's footwork is quite simple on double. Paranoia Survivor Max's on the other hand disgust.gif

I'm Seventeen and weigh alittle over 150 lbs. What's wrong with being fat and playing DDR? Fat has nothing to do with it, I think.

I'm incredibly fat and can do 9's and even a few non-Sakura/non-bag 10's! It doesn't have anything to do with it.

Trying to get my point across to fat nerds that won't admit the facts of life that a fatter person can't be as in good of shape as an in shape person. Everytime someone says "Fat has nothing to do with it" I picture some fat kid behind a desk that can pass a max song, and they automatically think that entitles them to proclaim themselves as "in shape." They can't admit to themselves or anyone else that they're fat and that they'll never be as in good of shape as a leaner person unless they trim down, which they won't do, of course.

But see, that's not the point you're making, at least that's not how its coming across. The point you're making is that a fat DDR player can never be as good as a thin one. They can, it just takes more work.

No, fat people are not "in shape". I know I'm not. I freely admit that I am fat and I'm not in shape and I bet that at most sports, I could probably get my ass kicked. However, just because I'm not in shape does not mean I automatically suck at everything. Especially at DDR. The arrogance at which your text seems to convey is basically saying "Fat people suck at life and they aren't good at anything."

That is honest-to-God bullshit. Fat people can be good at physical activities, but we will never be as good as a select group of other people. But that doesn't mean every skinny person is automatically better than us either.

And people also need to realize that just because some one is fat, doesn't mean that they are automatically some slob who sits in front of the TV all day doing nothing. I'm a very active person, I do a lot of physical activities and I've lost some weight doing that. The problem comes from the fact that I have a problem when it comes to eating correctly. I know I should, but I don't have the self-control to go through with it. There's my problem. I've stopped drinking soda, sure and that helped, but I still have a problem with going to McDonalds as opposed to Subway or going home to eat, although I've slowly started changing that behavior too.

Another thing I hate is everyone saying "Well, you should try this diet, you can eat whatever you want." I don't like fad diets, I think they're stupid. Especially the Atkins diet. I know it WORKS, but the problem is, is that it's not healthy eating. You're still allowed to eat a hamburger from McDonalds without the bun, but you can't have an apple? Yeah, that's not good eating. That's a diet for a lazy person who still wants to eat whatever they want and can't give up nasty junk foods.

The last thing is, I am comfortable with the fact that I am fat. I don't think I'm an ugly, disgusting person because of it. I don't glorify the fact that I'm fat either, because I don't think that's right. But I am comfortable with the fact that I am fat, and sure I'd like to lose some weight, but if it so happens that I get down to 250 or so and don't lose anymore weight, then I'm fine with that. I don't like the fact that it's ingrained in people's heads that you have to be skinny to automatically be a beautiful person.

Sure, you're more in shape, but that doesn't automatically make you healthy. My skinny friends have a lot more health problems then I do, they may not be severe, but they're generally more unhealthy than I am. I have to worry about diabetes. That's really it. My family has no history of heart disease or anything like that, although if I gain more weight, I will personally end up with that risk no matter what.

And if I ever come across another person that looks at me disgusted or says something rude because I am bigger than them, then I'll just tell them that if they don't shut up and keep walking that I will go and sit on them. E13.gif
