allright so i decided to pick up a gamestop dance pad because it was $20 and came with a year warrenty about 3 days ago. I modded it(just put some cardboard under the arrows and was going to do the plywood mod) but now the left arrow is randomly triggered. So i'm taking it back. And if this one sucks, i'm gonna take it back, by something nice, and order the ITG 2 pad combo on redoctane.com(2 pads and ITG for only $30!! I SMELL A GOOD DEAL) and mod those up.
anyways, i made this forum to discuss about the gamestop soft pad. I used to be an owner of a gamestop dance pad pro series and it worked awesome for 4 months of daily 2 hours on heavy play until i stepped on the control box. Definitely was worth it overall though. |

If your talking about the 40$ gamestop pro dance pad then I think I'll buy it now. I had two red octane dance pads but they broke down a little to quickly for the $80-$100 price tag. _________________

You DO know that they probably won't take it back now that you've used it... _________________

umm, the guy aat ebgames said if i have any problems i can return it, it doesnt matter if its used. I dont go spend 3 extra dollars so i can have a dance pad in the box for a year. Anyways i was going to return this today but anime caught me up(damn samurai champloo!) so i just decided ill cycle up there(im 14 and live about 5 minutes away from my local eb games) tomorrow or someday that im not lazy.
O and i only weigh like 140 lbs(im a skinny person!) and im too cheap(once again, cant get a job) to go get some expensive metal pad. So im forced to mod up a soft pad. With my bear hands. O and i have another question. I think what caused the left arrow to ghost was that my mom folded it horribly and threw it in the corner and that messed up the sensor. So im not gonna open this one until i get ALL THE SUPPLIES i need to mod it. no playing on it before im done! |

I had one of the old Game Stop $20 (it looked like the official Konami pad with the pink and blue arrows instead of the ugly one they're selling now) and it lasted over a year before the down arrow stopped working period, which is exactly what happened on my official Konami pad that came with DDRMAX2. Folding is definately NOT good for soft pads and should be avoided if possible. I think that's why my first soft pad bit the dust. I rarely ever folded my Game Stop pad and it lasted about the same ammount of time. I do tend to be a stomper, so that might explain it. I've had very few problems with my RO Ignition 3.0 so far, and I got the warranty on it just in case. I currently store my MadCatz soft pad (secondary) under the pool table so it's out of the way and not folded. Try to find a place like that to store your pad when it's not in use.
Whatever you do, DON'T get a Mad Catz. _________________

i hate mad catz pads...used to have an xbox one and it slid/bunched up like CRAZY!! well, i returned my old pad and i got a new one AND even tested it at eb games to make sure it worked(it surely did, and the guy was amazed by me, haha). So i brought it home and i played some stepmania. Got an A on healing vision angelic mix. Its a great pad.
Anyways, i decided im gonna store it under my bed so i dont have to foldit or worry about it getting stepped on. My pads only problem is it slides, but this weekend im putting some plywood under there and that should help it out.
I actually like playing on a flat surface now, it helps my persision at the arcade. And the gamestop soft pad(at least my new one) seems to work great.
O and just to tell you be happy you got a warrenty on the redoctane ignition 3.0. I got 1 at best buy, returned it and got another, returned it and got another, then just gave up and bought anime.
IT'S NOT WORTH THE $100(or is it $80 now?)!! I think my gamestop pad is better than any RO ignition ive ever used.
