Am I the only one who sat there and thought about how awesome "Go!" would be in IIDX...?

When I hear GO! I hear Sakura+Setsugekka for the first half, and then like a mix of Sandstorm and Maxx Attaxx.

I'd actually say that any of these songs could be Beatmania songs. Race Against Time would be an 11 on another. (On the arcade scale out of a possible 12. On Beatmania USA that's a 9.) I like all 4 of these songs quite a bit! I can't pick a favorite yet. Maybe in a week.

Do I know ZeroFuser under another name?

Race Against Time sounds too much like a midi-composed song that would be on an In the Groove game, Grandolin struck me in the same way, it sounds more fitted to be a song for an epic RPG, or a Twin Amadeus song, whichever you'd prefer.
Go is very exciting, and I like the spiritual style the song has, though comparisons to Sakura and Setsugekka will undoubtably be made. There's a Rhythm; now there's a song. I'm sure you could put sixteenth note runs in for a fun 10 or 11 footer ITG-style chart, but that isn't what Konami does. They put eighth note spurt 7 footer steps to songs like this, and everyone wants to freestyle it.
But when you think about it, that's what DDR is all about. Playing the game however you want. That would be interesting, to see that song get an 10 footer Maniac chart, and also a very freestyleable Basic chart. A great song should be able to be played by all styles of players, and that is the only one of the bunch that seemed to be truly dance-able and freestyleable (though there could be some interesting ethnic-style freestyles to Go, like I've seen people do to Sakura or Solitary from Pump It Up).
So, that one gets my pick.

My pick of the 4 had to go Grandolin. That song really stuck to me because I love music that has an soft ambience to it. An atmosphere that evelopes your mind and body. Takes you to some deep dark place and sooths your soul.

I'll be listening to it a lot.

I really didn't agree with this comment at first, but after thinking about it, yeah seems to fit the bill.

I really liked Race against time too. It had that techno-like touch to it that makes me very excited to play it. It was verly complicated with a lot happening throughout the song. We need more complex techno in DDR. It better be a ten I'd be dissapointed.

Go sounded like another DDR song, and that baseline just got on my nerves. I only listened to the first few seconds of it. My ears couldn't take anymore than that. I thought this was supposed to be an original.

There has to be rhythm = lose.....the end!

It would be nice if these songs ended up on Supernova, but that's just wishful thinking on my part. These songs would be better for an AC release.

I thought Race against time would have been excellent for pop'n music and IIDX, while grandolin would have just been good for IIDX.

You honestly need to listen to more than a few seconds of a song to like it.

If you only listened to a few seconds, you might not like it. Remember, just like in DDR, the small snippets you hear may actually be the worst part of the song.

A few seconds was all I needed to realise what kind of song it was, another redundant DDR song.

Then what else are you looking for?

Go! is a song.
It was one of the four winners.
DM Ashura wrote it.

WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT???

Congratulations to the winners. I also think it's awesome that Konami is letting these songs appear in future versions of DDR while letting the original composers retain 100% of the rights to their respective songs. E1.gif

Without telling my girlfriend the context concerning these four songs, I let her listen to the four songs.

She said that GO! and Grandolin were DDR-sounding songs that would only be popular because they'll have 9-foot or 10-foot charts.

The third song was weird.

Her favorite is the last one.

I agree with her assessments on Grandolin, GO!, and There's a Rhythm. Race Against Time sounds interesting, but I think that the only one I could convince newcomers to the series to play would be the R&B song, because it's the only one that's danceable.

No R & B should ever be on DDR.

But everything else should be 10s. We most certainly need more of thsoe. And for once they aren't 37389273758576^2 bpm.

It would make a lot of us happy.

Edit: I'd rather see these songs on ITG, because they seem to fit in Roxxor's music a lot better. They'd treat these songs right as far as the note charts are concerned.

I´m oficially hooked with There´s a rythm...

definetely the first songs are very DDR-like... much like, the same but new... which is not a bad thing at all

and the Race Against Time theme was pretty much like... huh... fits in, but it´s quite different

congrats to the winners... great talent on all of them

Ah, well, this is why not all four songs were from the same genre. People have different opinions on what should be in DDR. I, for one, am glad that there was an R&B song among the winners. However, I also agree that technical players enjoy 10s such as LoM and Maxx Unlimited more than songs like bag or Burning Heat. (my opinion is that bag is only a 10 if you are trying to AAA it or if you play on 1x Shuffle Flat)
