Even though it would be fun if a movie was based upon any kind of dancing game, I personally don't see a live action movie being created. I think an anime movie would definetely be more doable or even a short 6-12 episode series.
We have all seen what happens when video games are turned into live action movies. More often than not they usually aren't really that great with the few exceptions.
I think the worse movie made that was adapted from a video game has got to be House Of The Dead, and to think I wasted 10 bucks seeing that piece of crap on opening night.
I'll have to admit, even if they did make a ddr movie it would definetely be very plot driven with probably about a quarter of the movie being devoted to playing the ddr game in general. The whole tournament idea would definetely be interesting if there was a very good reason behind it.
The Wizard definetely seemed to do a very good job, and they even made a movie about a foozball tournament called kickball but that is definetely a very old school movie I watched late one night when I was a teenager.
In terms of the DDR movie, its definetely very possible if the right ideas were brought together, but nobody will ever take it seriously just like other video game movies before it. I just think they would be better off animating it, at least you can get away with some silliness especially for a dancing game.

Yeah but... it's a live-person movie AND all the Zukins are one character. That's like... not really cool... even if it gets points for being character goodness...

...are you me? I've attempted to write a long fanfiction with the DDR characters, with not a whole lot consisting of DDR, it's more of an adventure story. I've never published it anywhere though. I agree though, that'd be the best way to pull a DDR movie off.

Then for the love of underappreciated ideas, where's it at?! Nah, but uh... I'd like to see it... I'm guilty of liking and writing DDR character fanfiction... not the fanfictions all about original characters... or poems... although there was that one posted here months back where someone put as many songs in one story as they could and that was kinda cute...
One problem with DDR character fanfics is that the characters don't have much of a character to stay in... and we're not all gonna be able to agree on what they shold be like. That's why I vote any big story needs to have Konami's input... or their help, if that's a better word...
