I'm not posting my c/p posts elsewhere so one of you mods can make this front page news.
EDIT-Goddamn Safari didn't go to the right forum. I thought this was Other Bemani. |

WE don't need guitar freaks.
Guitar Hero is simply a BETTER GAME.
By going the "ok/not ok" route, they became more true to the instrument, and by having presses and releses trigger some notes without strumming, they've incorporated more from the real guitar then GF ever did.
And they'v still not exhausted all the possibilities for game depth.
For example, on osome fast strumming sections, since the game can tellt he difference between up and down strokes, reward players with a bonsu for doing it all in downstrokes. On the real instrument dong that DOES affect the sound, and it should in this game too.
One classic esxample woudl be Master of Puppets (would be in the MEtal version of the game, of course). MEtallica plays the opening riff all downstrokes. you can play it with aalternating strums and that makes it easier, but it doesn't sound as good.
Or they could have a ska number or other song and make upstrokes REQUIRED at certain parts, and not accept downward strokes, bnecause the real song used upward ones there. (use a differnet symbol) _________________

Yeah, guitar heroes has the familiar songs.
I also read somewhere that they might have a drum game and a bass section with the sequel. _________________

"Don't worry Guitar Freaks, I'll always love you more..."
Guitar Freaks has an arcade version though, with hundreds of songs and a hefty, well-built guitar... thus making it the winner! |

1. More buttons != better game.
2. Which version of GF have you played? Extreme mode gets pretty hard, I doubt the first guitar-game release in the west will match it's difficulty right away. _________________

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

What did you expect? Surprisingly, most of the people who will buy Guitar Hero will believe that it's the first time a guitar game has come out. They want people to be able to play expert mode early on, because if they think they're good at it, they're more likely to buy a sequel than if they think "wtf another guitar hero the first one was way too hard". _________________

Can I play this gaem wiv my Guitar Freaks controlar??!?!
Haha, I agree that more buttons doesn't make a better game. Look at keyboardmania, is that the pinnicle of Bemani? No. How about Taiko no Tatsujin? That only really has two different 'buttons' (for the sake of this they are buttons) and that game can get VERY hard and is one of the most popular music games ever! |
