In case you forgot, most companies only care when you are SELLING a product that infringes on theirs.
In this case, Roxor is SELLING something that is infringing their patents, so they can get in trouble. Stepmania was never making a profit, therefore, Konami didn't care.

I right clicked the file for OSX and looked in its contents, and everything is compressed and in some weird form that I am unfamiliar with.
Seriously, I'd replace my stepmania with that in a heartbeat.

Tell that to the myriad of torrent websites that get shut down. Not for profit, right? |
Copyright infringement VS patent/trademark infringement aside, the point is clear that determining profit VS nonprofit doesn't matter in certain cases.

Clearing Dawn Hard and Utopia Hard unlocks the Expert steps for each.
Also - 3D Arrows are rendered correctly! Unlike StepMania, where trying to use 3D noteskins fucks everything up really badly.
I certainly will buy this.
Stuff the final version will contain (thanks to the website's FAQ page):
several new, unlockable songs from ITG3
more unlockable courses and mods
a full step editor for creating your own step charts
export and import steps from a USB drive for use with In The Groove 2 in arcades
support for widescreen displays
high resolution graphics
improved frame rates and faster loading (depending on how powerful your computer is)
unedited versions of all songs - the same as the arcade
new step charts that haven't even appeared in In The Groove 2 arcade

All of the ITG AC codes work, yet nothing is unlocked. You are only able to hear the sound.
