Well, I am currently looking for a metal DDR pad and would like some help. At first, my goal was to build a pad, but then when I saw some prices of these metal pads I became interested. I don't plan on spending more than ~$185 (American). I was looking around here a couple weeks ago and saw a lot about the TX-4000, now a saw some stuff about the Mymybox metal pad.

I am planning on getting the TX-4000 from one of these two places: http://www.elementsource.com/bdaremepadar.html
http://store.imarketcity.com/ddrdaremepad.html

Or the Mymybox MT6 from here:
http://www.mymybox.com/ddrmt6.html

Which of these would be the better buy? I would like the least amount of problems as possible. I assume since they are cheaper pads there will be problems, but that I can deal with. Any comments about these 2 pads would be appreciated.

Should I build my own pad instead?

Before you go off and buy one.
Why not check ebay?
I got 2 metal pads off ebay for 10 bucks each + 60 shipping each
That was last year and they're still working fine.

Check around ebay for some deals. Some stuff is good some not, watch yourself.

eBays a sorta good move, but I dont 100% trust eBay, (Ive been shafted once on a moderate priced purchase that compounded into a high cost upkeep). So watch yourself. If you arent going to go the eBay route, the MT6 looks a lot better than the other TX models Ive seen out there. But maybe you can save up for a CF, Afterburner, or BlueShark? If not, Id stick with the MT6.

I have an MT-6 and it's great.

You can view my thoughts there.

You may want to get a piece of either playwood or foam padding to go on the bottom. Performance wise it's great and MyMyBox will contact you via the phone and e-mail to let you know the status of your shipment.

First off. E-bay is not an option. My dad refuses to buy anything of E-bay, and I really don't feel like trying to argue with him to let me.

Second, why would I have to get plywood or foam for the MT6? What's bad with the TX series?

[EDIT]
What platform does the MT6 run on? I would prefer a pad to be able to play on PC and PS2.

Usually, the TX line of pads are craptacular at best (I had a TX-1000 die within a week of use). There are a bajillion TX look alikes, all with different names, but usually with similar performance.

Im not too sure about the foam/plywood move. I did do that with an ignition pad before, just to stabilize it and not have it move around everywhere.

And I belive the MT6 has a PlayStation connector. Thats easily fixed when you buy a Playstation->USB adapter unit such as an EMS Dual Shooter.

Well, it just about looks like I'm going to be getting the MT6. It's just over $145 shipped. E4.gif I still would like to know what people are meaing when they are telling me to get plywood or foam? Would it be just to go under the pad? Is it just not sturdy?
