Hmmm...

Check the steps under Festival. I dunno, they look pretty evil.

The kid sounds like he's hyperventilating at the end. (Then again, I would too if I was 6 years old playing 10s.)

And, honestly. For the ones knocking this kid:
Get a life.
OH TEH NOES A KID DIDUNT DO EXATCLY LIEK YOU WANTED HIM TO DO A SONG!!!

Big frickin' whoop. I couldn't be prouder of the little kid. Honestly, home version or no, that's an amazing feat for someone his age. I'm ten years older than him and I can barely pass some 10s, even in some home versions. Honestly, this kid, with a few more years, could be one of the best players we've seen.

I hate little kids. I'll do or say anything to keep them in their place.

He is only 6, doing a 10, that means either: Hes been playing since he was 3 or 4, or He learned how to play DDR at LIGHTENING speed. Either way you look at it, thats very impressive.

Why is everyone putting this down? That's pretty amazing if you ask me.

I still don't see why it's so special if a little person passes a song.

First off, it's amazing that someone that young would even have an interest in DDR. Being able to read arrows and successfully correlate your eyes and feet that well at 6 is awesome. Most kids can't even correlate their brains and hands in order to write or their eyes, to read, yet this kid can read arrows like that? Not only that, I know from DDR that one of the skills you need to pass heavy songs is to have a recgonition of step patterns. Your mind remembers these patterns, and for the kid to remember all those for a 10-foot heavy song, is amazing.

I would find it much more awesome if a 6-year old could AAA easier heavy songs.

So what if it's a home version? Exactly how is that worse than someone bar raping at an arcade? Bar raping takes like 75% of your body weight off your legs, and youre saying that playing at home, with NO available BAR is worse? disturb.gif

People improvise bars at home with chairs and stuff. It's not terribly hard. But the home version's timing windows are so huge that if ITG's home windows were made that huge I could probably pass like every 12+ on shuffle. And of course not all of us use the bar.

Ugh...ok people

When someone posts a DDR video online, it's expected to be knock your socks off impressive. Like AAA PSMO or *** Pandemonium impressive.

True, the kid is 6 years old. And he is doing a 9 stepper, which is cool for a little kid. But he did get a D, on home version, when he was just frivolously stamping on the pad the whole time. That's cool stuff and everything but, comparing it to all the other vids on didder magic online, it's just not that amazing.

The boy was playing the DDR Festival version of Mad Blast. In case you didn't notice, there was no SP6 label on the banner, thus meaning that it isn't the Ultramix version. DDR Festival redesigned all of the original stepcharts for the Ultramix crossovers on the game, and it was the song's redesigned steps that the 6-year old was dancing to. The DDR Festival version is a 10-footer.

Actually, I got the stepcount by pausing the video where it shows the score and adding down the columns.
By the way, IIRC Festival was before UM.
So, nerr.

My 6-year-old sister can pass easy nines, and frankly, that's not a hard chart.
Also, I could read by 3... or was it 2?
Yeah, it was 2, because I remember my dad told me i read the "pull" on a fire alarm and did just that at this one place.
Plus, every kid in my kindergarten class could write. Not exceptionally well, but they could.
It's not exceptional. It's pretty cool, but it's not amazing that someone figured out how to turn down the difficulty.

ok it was an OK vid but it doesnt mean much 2 most people cause u start 2 think ,atleast i do," if i was that age i could easily do that "because the truth is i probably could back at 6 if u have enough since 2 play video games and know whats going on it shouldnt matter what age u are unless you are still crawling on the ground but back then i did a lot of things that involved me running and my reflexes. would it have been on heavy? dont know i have a 5 yr old autistic who plays at arcade and knows what to do and how to PA so from my experiences that vid doesnt mean anything 2 me but still gotta give props.

I'm sorry if this is sort of off topic but I simply don't understand the mindset of many of the posters on this forum, and I would like this to be explained to me.

In addition to this forum I also frequent a few various bodybuilding forums and forums having to do with weightlifting. Like these forums users often post videos of their accomplishments and share advise or simply marvel at other's impressive lifts. What I have noticed on these forums is that more than 90% of the videos posted are of lifts that are not even close to world record lifts. Even the videos that get pages of "holy crap you're strong" and other such comments are usually nowhere near the world record lift at that particular weight class.

On these forums I notice a very sharp contrast. Unless the video posted is at the absolute pinnacle of skill it is poo-pooed and the posted is insulted and berrated for wasting the time of the viewer. I simply do not understand why there's some sort of unwritten code on these forums that every video or accomplishment posted outside of one or two threads specificly intended for new players is expected to an AA or AAA of a ten foot song (even an AA of a 10 foot song would probably earn some rude remarks). Do you guys realize that only a fraction of one percent of those who play DDR are able to accomplish these feats? I simply do not understand what a lot of you are coming from...
