If you mean the robot, that's most logically the PARANOiA robot. |

Actually, that android is not exclusive to the Paranoia series. The German 80's Techno band, Kraftwerk, used similar, in fact nearly the same, androids in their remix album, "The Mix".
Strange coincidence. I was raised on Kraftwerk, so when I saw the 'droid in Paranoia (before I found out how hard they were for my age and experience at the time), I was pleasantly surprised. _________________

Am I the only one who basically pays no attention to the backgrounds once the steps start? I've never found (Most of) the backgrounds distracting at all. |

Most backgrounds aren't annoying, true, but have you ever played Drifting Away on DDRMAX2 home version? They background is really, really bright and is almost the same color as the steps without solo. So basically you can't read it very well which is gay.
But yeah, I bearly even remember what any background looks like. It took me like a year to realize that the Paranoias have androids in the back. (I'm very unobservant) _________________

The worst background is Captain Jack(grandale mix). Once it turns blue, it blends PERFECTLY with the arrows on solo. Ugh!!!
But yeah, I never really pay attention to the bg's. _________________

Backgrounds don't really effect me either. Yet, I happen to like the moving backgrounds of DDR as apposed to Stepmania. That way, if there is a background that drives you crazy, you don't have to look at it for the whole song. _________________

Interesting related tidbit:
In Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow - there is a special optional boss known as "PARANOiA". And of course, he looks like the Paranoia android from the DDR songs. _________________
