sorry for getting back to you guys so late but this is what happened. Apparently he broke his jaw pretty badly and had to get it wired shut. He was knocked out at the time but can recall all of the events that lead up to his fall. He came in on friday with his mom, screaming at the manager of the bowling alley. She is going to try and sue the bowling alley for not posting any signs about doing tricks on the machine...or something like that. I think this kid is totally retarded and I hope he gets banned from the bowling alley.

I hope he doesn't get a cent. If you go to a mall (for example) and throw yourself down the stairs you can't sue because there was no sign that says not to. Some people are just so greedy.

I'm gonna sue the local Dunkin' Donuts soon. I plan on tripping and hurting myself, and then sue them for not putting up a sign that says "DON'T HURT YOURSELF" or something like that.

when you start playing doesn't it say something like "extreme movements can be dangerous" or some other warning like that?

I swear to god, people will sue about anything. Your absolutely right DDRgasm it does say on the machine that the machine requires extreme motions and can be dangerous and certain precautions need to be taken. I just can't fathom why the mom of this kid would sue the bowling alley, unless she was desperate for a bit of money.

Its not the machine/bowling alley's fault that the kid broke his jaw while trying to do an extreme stunt. That was a risk he and he alone felt like he had to do, and nobody influenced him in any way, shape or form. I feel off a ddr machine before, and almost twisted my ankle but I didn't blame the arcade for it. It was due to my own clumsiness.

I really hope this doesn't stand up in court, if it does then people will start throwing themselves off ddr machines just to get a few thousand dollars. I can see it now Law & Order (Special DDR Victims Unit).

Trust me, I have plenty of sympathy for the kid, I don't want to see anybody suffer any kind of injury especially if they're playing itg/ddr. i really hope he makes a full recovery, but the fact that his mom wants to sue because of his own recklessness is just plain childish. I don't know many freestlyers, but I'm guessing there are going to bumps and bruises while you try different freestyle moves, but I guess it comes with the territory. Deep down you have to take responsibility for your own actions.

Is this the world that we live in, that we practically have to sue over every little thing just to get money. I work as customer support for a major american internet company, and you constantly get people that want to sue you over the silliest little things at least once a day.

As were on the topic of people suing over the silliest reasons, this is the most hilarious story I have ever heard, and I seen it on jay leno's headlines a few years ago. A woman and her husband sued mcdonald's because when she ordered a big mac she bit into it, and the pickle on the big mac was a little bit hot, and it caused a little blister on her tongue, and she sued mcdonalds for personal damages and the husband counter sued mcdonalds because he loss the services of his wife's tongue. Thankfully this didn't stand up in court.

Anyway, I hope the kid makes a full recovery and starts playing again. I just hope he takes more precuation when he tries a freestlye stunt and tries to pratice it as much as he can. Anyway thats my input for the topic, so take care and all the best.

First off...OOOOOOOW!!! Second, im gyrographically challenged (NO IM NOT FAT!) so i loose balance easily if i even attempt to do a flip. Third, OOOOOOOW!! and I wonder if he will play DDR again...but really play DDR and Freestyle AT YOUR OWN RISK! In other words, if your stupid, dont freestyle E1.gif

Even though he was seriously hurt...kinda serves him right.
I mean...why go out of your way to do a flip...during casual play?

As for his mom sueing? Ha!
He went out of his way to try something stupid like that so it's all on him if he effed up.

And there is a warning screen before you play.
