I think that if my school was to get DDR, they'd get a real machine so it dosn't break down very often. The cafeteria is mad far away from any classrooms, so it would work. I know several people who play DDR, and I know I'd be on it about at least once a day. It would also take the bordism out of study hall.

it would have been fun. most of the kids would have been sweeting after 3 or so 3-4 footer songs.... 30 9-footers later... oh look a sweet drop on my head... i love playing Drop Out 3 times in a row.

Ha ha, yeah. Seirously, how do people sweat when they've only been playing about 5 or 6 min. total on LIGHT??? When I do Sakura about 6 or 7 times in a row, my armpits MIGHT start getting a little damp. (Max 300 though, it only takes about 3 plays on that.)

Hold up dude, those DDR cabinets can be VERRRYY delicate, especially when stomped on by new players (they just ignore no stomping signs), and I highly doubt the school would pay for it to be repaired often. Plus, the lunchroom? Hello shorts from spilled drinks left on the machine and dirty pads from walking through the crumby mess that is the lunchroom.

Bottom line, new players should use a PS2, Xbox, or SM version with softmats, Heavy players should get exclusive use of the Cabinet. E7.gif

Don't think like that. Convincing a teacher seems hard, until you actually try. Give a simple reason like: "DDR makes exercise less tedious and fun." and then go on to give reasons like; exercise can be boring... stuff like that. Don't forget to mention the calorie counter on the console versions either! E13.gif

Don't stop trying dude. E4.gif

I just wrote a letter to my school's superintendent about setting up a program in our lunch room (I made references to www.getupmove.com and a CNN article about the WV schools). I hope she writes back and we can work something out E4.gif

It would be really cool if we could get a cabinet and just make it Coin Op so we don't get people screwing around on it as much and it would pay for itself over time, but I wouldn't be dissapointed with getting a PS2 setup either.

Heh, the superintendent replied, she forwarded my message to my principal, gym teacher, and another person in charge of curriculum. She said she had just become aware of DDR programs in school herself, so I hope that means she's interested in getting one set up E4.gif

I would love DDR in my school. I'm a senior this year, and I don't even take gym anymore, but it would be SO cool to have some kind of DDR program. Besides, there are a bunch of people I know that go to my school that like it.

And my cheap-buttocks school wouldn't even have to pay for pads and platforms-- my friends and I all have it (PS2 and Xbox), so we could just bring our own. Hmmm... *composes letter to principal*
