I've just started going to arcades to play and I have some.
1) I put my quarter up to form a line and the guy on the pad used it like i was giving it to him. ( too bad he sucked almost fell off the machine cause his leg started hurting so I jumped up and finished his set)
2) big crowds of people around the machine (the one I go to most is located in the center of hangout city for my town. So naturally girls come with packs of 15 of their friends and form a protective barrier around the machine so no one can play)
3) waiting for people to finish beginner mode cause they dont fail on it. |

Why does that anger you? Just because they play on beginner doesn't give them any less of a right to play than you have. |

hehe I'm evil
This kid that everyone at the arcade I play at pretty much agrees is annoying, asked to play with me the last time I was there (after not going for a month or so). I said sure, it's been a while, why not. But I told him, the only condition is please don't choose any 10 footers except Sakura, I wasn't in the mood to drain my energy. He said sure. Well for the 4th and final song, he chooses Maxx Unlimited. So I said alrighty then, as he was going through the options, just before he got to the bottom, I managed to change his difficulty to beginner and started the song. Needless to say, he was pretty pissed, but hey, he knew I didn't want to and that's the only reason I let him play, so he screwed me over, I screwed him back. |

It makes me mad when someone plays on beginner too.
Why?
Because it's boring.
They can't hit the arrows.
It's usually a little kid.
And they pick the same song three times.
And it has to be the most horrible song too.

EXACTLY.
When I play up in Maine in the summer its always a ton of little kids playing We Will Rock You 3 times on Beginner. Biggest waste of time EVER. The parents think "Oh thats so cute look at them on that game."
Guess what parents, its not cute, it's irritating. These are the little kids that walk onto the pad while I'm playing and almost get kicked in the face. Then you are the parents that yell at me because you suck at watching your kid, yahoo. _________________

It's also much worse when I'm waiting for a go at Hollywood Bowl, Stevenage, when some person decides to use FIVE credits on he same song, on begginer! 5,6,7,8 drives you crazy! |

Where I go, they pick Speed Over Beethoven or La Copa De La Vida three times in a row. |

I don't give a crap if someone wants to play Beginner, it's their money and all. As long as they don't completely cut the line, it's okay with me -- at the MIT student center, when there are huge crowds of Heavy players rushing at the machine, I'm usually one of the only people who tries to help out the tourists or little kids who don't know how to approach the coin line.
I usually bring a book or something to do anyway. Let the people play what they want. If it weren't for my horrible stint at Beginner mode on a USA machine, I would've never gotten into this game in the first place, so I'd hate to deprive a kid of a nice healthy addiction just because they didn't know any better to play other songs besides La Copa de la Vida three times in a row. That's what they invented portable music players for, methinks. |

I was in Vegas over the summer at NYNY Hotel & Casino. Well, there were the usual local chicks out for the night playing MAX2 on beginner/light. They totally sucked and laughed whenever they missed an arrow. I'm like "Come on. Hurry it up." And they chose the worst songs.
I also hate when I'm playing and all of a sudden a little kid will walk in front of the screen and I say to myself "What don't the parents watch where their kids are walkin??" Can't they see I'm playing a game and they could get hurt?? Maybe I WILL hurt them so the parents will pay more attention. |

Well, you've got my vote for "Creepiest sentence ever written in a forum devoted to dancing video games." _________________

I don't mind if they pick beginner, I just want them to pick something other than the same song 3 times in a row.
The sheer number of times that song has been played on the machine there is enough to drive someone crazy. _________________

That has happened down here in Little Rock, Ar. They pick it that song and on the first try, they get an "E". Then the other time (or 3) they get a "D". I be wanting to tell them to pick another song. One time, one of the parents was tired of hearing "We Will Rock You" until they're about to shout. So, I helped them pick another song. I chose "Remembering You". |

Around here, the most popular songs on beginner are La Copa de la Vida, I Do I Do I Do, and Rhythm and Police.
Yeah R&P is a great song, but the kiddies just overplay it waaay too much.
Oh, and about that hurting the kid thing so the parents will pay attention..
I've actually done that.
The parents don't need to watch them after that, the kids just stay away from the machine.
Either that, or try to be funny and come back again.
Like the kid I punched in the back of the head... -_-;
He was like 12, so it was okay.
I mean, he knew what he was doing.
Should have seen it coming. =\ |

Yeah it's really easy to see a fist coming at the back of your head. _________________

I hate when people are really good at ITG, and then thinking just because they're good, they can cut infront of everyone in line.
Like, they'll put a token up but just go next.
Uggggh. |
