My insider sources are reporting that the name "Pump It Up: In The Groove 3" is being thrown around a lot. Call me the man in the know. _________________

ITG needs a lot of foot changes, most of which aren't going to happen. For example, Hybrid Hard needs to be a 10 IMO, but I doubt that's ever going to happen. _________________

This may seem petty (and it really is) but I sincerely hope there is no crappy censorship in ITG2, or I won't be buying it. I know, I know, it's not that big a deal to most, but for me, it just totally turned me off ITG. My favourite songs got butchered to the point where I didn't want to play them anymore. Censor if you wish, but please have enough respect for those who can only play the home versions (I've never seen an ITG machine in this province, ever) and make the censoring professional. And I really would love to play ITG2; the preview songs in ITG showed a lot of improvement in stepchart style, on all difficulties, and I'd love the chance to play ITG2. I'll play it regardless of censorship, but if the music is hacked to pieces, I'll think twice about a purchase. _________________

Heh...sounds like Roxor is getting worried about Super Nova. Konami is gonna take back the competition! _________________

Orrrrrr it's just that the tournament was a convenient time to announce it since a lot of people figured ITG2 CS was coming around the same time as last year, and I'd think it's a good bet ITG3 AC will roughly coincide with it as well. _________________

Hybrid Hard a 10? I won't say Hybrid Hard is easy. I played it 3 or 4 times before passing it, and when I finally passed it, I only did so with an 80%. I think its rating of 9 is quite appropriate. Speaking of Hybrid, for some reason I haven't played that song in a while and I don't know why.
Oh yes, regarding the release of ITG2 CS and ITG3 AC, schweet. I didn't buy ITG1 CS. I thought ITG1 was a good game, but the censorship of songs and glitches along with the lack of a decent home pad put me off of it. ITG2, however, feels really polished to me, and I think I may have to bite the bullet and go buy a CF for this one.
I wonder what the songlist is going to be like for both games. Personally, although ITG2 kept every single song from ITG1 and added over 60 more, I think the list does need to be pared down a bit. In my experience, I've never seen anyone actually play any of the MC Frontalot or Dax stuff. I don't think I've ever seen anyone play Turn it On, except for me, which was back when I was first tried ITG1 and was looking for a 7 to play because I didn't know if I could handle 8s. For ITG2 CS, having over 130 songs would be cool, but I don't think the list needs to be that big.
I also just had a crazy thought regarding new stuff for ITG3. With Andamiro making ITG cabs now, I wonder if there's even the most remote chance that some PIU songs could end up in ITG. I think it would be interesting to see Banya stuff on a 4-panel game. Not that I don't enjoy them on PIU itself. I realize this is probably fanboy-ish dreaming because Andamiro's involvement with ITG seems to stop at making cabinets, though. Other than that, I think it might be a good idea for Roxor to get some licensed songs that are familiar to people who don't normally play music games.
<insincere stupidity>
Roxor should license Smile.dk for ITG3 AHAHAHAHA I'llshutupnow

Heh... sounds more like this has been in the works for a while, considering that they did the group pictures for the arcades last summer and the fact that exists has already been leaked already.
If anything, I think the worry's going the other way around. Even though I am pretty close to solely a DDR player, I know that ITG3 is going to be nothing short of spectacular since Roxor from the getgo has been listening to the general dancing game community for what they want in the releases, which is why they have all been so well recieved. Konami has an opportunity to capitalize on a wider market here because of its fanbase, and if they want this game to work they better listen. They have a lot of catching up to do. |
