ok heres what happened
-downloaded the song candy star from bemanistyle with the song videos (i didnt know what to do)
-downloaded more files from bemanistyle
-downloaded ITG Files not from bemanistyle
-played stepmania
-played anubis standard
-stepmania closed and it said 'stepmania error' but the window was blank and the computer was frozen
-restarted comp played SM played candy star same prob occured so i deleted the video files
-upgraded SM from SM 3.9 rc3 to 3.9 rc4
-played candy star it was fine
-turned on random videos
-played break down messed up
-restarted comp and played with BGanimations
-played candy fine
-played THE SHINING POLARIS (from bemanistyle) fine
-played candy again unfine
-restarted comp and deleted all files from bemanistyle except sandstorm
-played sandstorm on standard with random vids worked fine
-played candy with random vids unfile
-deleted candy files and got new ones from ddrlover.com
-played new candy files with random vids unfine
so wtf is going on should i delete the random vids files and download em again of what?

can any one tell me how to speed up the songs, NOT THE ARROW SCROLL SPEED, the actual speed of the song, i would like to try playing some songs at a faster pace, like arch0wl did in in his quasar video , (just not that fast!)

So you know how to set the arrow scroll speed ... after you make your choices on that menu hit return and then quickly hit return again . If I remember correctly, I hit return and then hit it again and hold it down. Another menu will open up. |

When I play stepmania a lot of my songs tend to skip during gameplay... I don't have any other programs running, the Vsync is turned off.... is there something I can do to make it stop skipping? I've reinstalled it twice already and it still skips.

On the 2nd mod screen, you should see "rate" which is prolly on 1x. You can change from .3x to 2x or so (arch0wl was on 1.5x). If you dont see rate then i'm prolly using a different theme than you (I use extreme VS4 from rebirthbemani, and havent used default for awhile).

Yes, it is that way for default. You win a million dollars. I'm not sure how, but you can mod it to go down even to 0.1x if you wanted.

Does it happen on songs like Slave Labor and Die Motherfucker die? That happens to me too... |

So.. there are some songs I have that won't save my high score/record... there's Waka Laka, and my friend also sent me Destiny and Summer, and those don't save my highscore either...
Anyone might know the reason? Maybe I have too many songs on there? lol. |

when i try to play stepmania it says A required .DLL file, OPEN file, OPENGL32.DLL,was not found. at first it said it needed another file with i downloaded from a site and draged and dropped into the 'Program' folder. when i try to get he OPEN32.DLL file from the same site when i drag n drop into the stepmania 'Program' folder it wont work. what should i do?

Actually, just hold down enter when you choose a song will do the trick...

Another tip, try going into sound options and turning down the sound quality to medium or low.

It's most likely due to little RAM (probably not) or a bad videocard. You might of already done this, but did you check the stepmania minimum requirments?
If you have met all the requirements, try downloading drivers for your computer and/or videocard.

Ok this has proably already been covered. But Im to lazy to go back and read it!
When I play stepmania none of my scores save. And when I reload it all of my settings get returned to default. Like if I put on no menu timer when I reload step Menu timer will be back on.
