I need help.
Briefly,
new RedOctane Ignition dance pad, multi-platform
have connected to PC via USB
have dance game: Prex3 (can get total name if needed)
also have downloaded Stepmania free game
I need steps to get it all working?
Do I need a different game?
Under Game Controllers in Control Panel I can get the X's to show up sometimes
but no activity through game
I can problem-solve myself if someone(s) can give me steps to go through and overall introduction to how to set this stuff up. I don't know enough to know if the pad is faulty (and I should return it) or if I just need more knowledge about dance programs and their connection with the pad. The Prex game says the pad is not connected, whereas the computer says it is, by the way.
Thanks for any info.

Your best bet is probably the PC and Simulator forum. If for some reason that doesn't work, Bemani Controllers is the way to go. _________________

Never heard of the game Prex before; it sounds sketchy. For Stepmania, I believe you have to download a program to map the buttons to the game. You should be able to find some information in the Simulators forum, I'm not quite knowledgable about it. That, and you need songs for the game. |

Prex sounds like some iteration of PIU. _________________

I never had to download a program to map the buttons to SM. All I did (after making sure the dance pads were plugged in and recognized) was start SM, go to Options, then Configure Key/Joy Settings. From there, I hit enter on one of the blank dash-lines on the left side for each corresponding arrow (Up Down Left Right) and pressed the corresponding button on the pad. Then I did the same on the right side for the 2P pad. _________________

Correct. The game is PIU Prex3. _________________

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

Yes. Pump It Up The PREX (Premiere Extra) 3 is the game that was released in arcades right before Pump It Up EXCEED. There's a PS2 version of it in circulation in Korea and I believe a PC version in circulation in the States. _________________

Getting back on topic this forum should help you a bit better than posting the question in this general forum.
