^ Yeah, mine seems to be wonky too - I tried to select-exit out of max2 and it didn't work. I wound up holding down 1P select on the afterburner. I think the box may have to 'initialize' and seems to have a flimsy connection from the pad (the 'breakaway' feature - bah, like the PS2 cable, USB cable, XBOX cable, Gamecube cable aren't all 'breakaway' anyway). The pad has been nothing but a miracle otherwise. I'm consistently under 20 greats on most songs 8 or less on the home version and I FC more than not. I also used the bar to take out Burning Heat and it held up pretty good - its a fairly thick bar so it doesn't feel weak. Overall this thing really reminds me of being at the arcade (except for my arcade's stuck arrows, poor song selection, outdated equipment, annoying noobs, poor alcohol selection laugh.gif )

So: it's the general consensus that there's a problem with the Start and Select buttons on the Control Box? After all, those two buttons aren't exactly a part of the pad, so it seems to just be a PS2 control box issue, right? Has anyone tried the USB2.0 and Xbox Control Boxes?

I wouldn't call 2 owners a 'consensus' but its possible the whole batch of control boxes is 'bad' (this allegedly happened with early afterburner shipments also). I took me days to notice because I have my pad as 2P and dont use 2P select/start hardly never. I plan on buying the USB box so I can play Ba Kkwa and Bag so I will let people know about how that works if I ever get around to it.

It seems that no pad is safe from bad c-boxes. Even the CFs which were praised as being flawless had a period of bad c-boxes.

Question, would these sensors (since they're called arcade sensors) actually work in a DDR cab? Our ITG2 upgrade needs new sensors and the arcade manager can't find any other than Channelbeat Green's :shutter:

^^Yes it is MMB's claim (on their website) that their sensors are a suitable replacement for the DDR and PIU arcade machine sensors. As I do not have an arcade machine I cannot confirm or deny this. I do know for a fact that the sensors at my local 'arcade' do, in all honesty, suck. riiight.gif

Also big apology to fans of the Blueshark - I incorrectly reported that the start button on my control box was not functional. After using DDRMAX2 training mode, I have determined that the start button is 100% working. Select is still not functional in any game.

This blueshark metal pad looks really nice. but it seems that some people have blue color look metal pad. E19.gif mymybox blueshark metal pad looks really nice and shiny on their website. is it really silver color and very shiny? The handle bar seems little bit shorter than arcade. What do you think?

....

What the HELL do looks matter about a metal pad in the first place? You buy a metal pad to get better performance, not to have anal sex with it. And it might look blue because the image quality is bad. The pad is shiny silver metal.

EASY there, fella. Some people may be reluctant to shell out $400+ on a pad that they aren't completely happy with. If they want to make sure it shines, let them riiight.gif

I suppose I should consider myself lucky that I bought a BlueShark for a grand total of $238.45. It will arrive on Thursday....

Hot damn, I'm definitely picking one of these up - the fact that it uses legit sensors is an instant sale to me.

Damn, sweet deal. How'd you get it so cheap?

I tried ordering one of these pads from the site but I don't see them anymore. Are they still available for sale or were they a limited production?

eBay. The same seller now offers three other BlueSharks for sale on eBay, but the starting bid plus shipping now tops $320. I think I sort of ripped him off...

Since BlueShark Metal pad uses legit sensors. I really have to consider buying this metal pad instead of CobaltFlux. I want to buy the one that can last at least for long time.

Thick panel and real arcade sensor with very good sensativity are the key fact I am going to buy this blueshark.

The website said:

MyMyBox.com wrote:
ADDITIONAL FEATURES:

* Includes control box for PlayStation/PlayStation 2 / Xbox/ PC (via USB), or GameCube compatibility (separate control box required)
* Heavy duty one-piece metal frame for durability
* Extended platform base for increased stability
* 12 mm acrylic plastic and stainless steel surface for an arcade look and feel
* EVA foam base (non-slip bottom) to help prevent the pad from slipping
* Advanced wiring for maximum sensitivity
* Corner brackets that prevent sharp exposed edges
* No assembly required

Is it confirmed that the pad comes with all 4 control boxes? I just ordered this pad online a couple of hours ago, and I want to make sure I'm getting all the control boxes just like the site said I'd get.

Unfortunately, the pad ships with a control box for only a single platform of your choice apparently defualting to PS2. Other control boxes are supposedly available, but the website claims they are out of stock. I would consider this one of the major drawbacks of the pad and I wonder if the potential gravy for a sale of extra box or two is really worth the risk that MMB competitors (Redoctane and Cobalt Flux) capitalize on this weakness when they release their response to this product. The same thing happened with the 'doubles bar' for the Cobalt Flux - Redoctane pounced on it when they released the afterburner with 'no costly add-on needed to play doubles' - even though ordering 2 fluxes includes that bar for free. Hmmm, will the Cobalt Flux 2 require 'no costly add-ons for cross-platform play' ? erm.gif

Damn. Oh well, I'll just buy a PS2 to USB converter to take care of the PC control box. I guess I'll just have to wait until later in the year to get the Xbox one. I just checked the website and they say the Xbox control boxes are available. The PC one is "out of stock" supposedly.

Just took the plunge to order one with a bar. $424 after shipping.

This pad had better be fantastic - I already have a flux, and was about to try out the afterburner, but went with this instead E1.gif

edit: Yes, I have a flux already and still ordered this. I spend way too much on DDR - I'm a nerd making WAY too much money (About $50k a year) for how much my expenses are E1.gif
