This pad looks promising. Earl, I'm curious about the feel of the recessed arrows; it has a striking resemblance to the afterburner, as far as looks go. You've had experience on both. Does the blueshark feel as "deep" as the afterburner? The afterburner, compared to the arcade, was noticably much more recessed (which isn't always the best for 11-13 footers

)

If you could post a picture with the same angle as this, it'd be much appreciated.

Well, it definitely looks nice. The arrows look recessed enough to feel yourself around the pad, which is all you really need.

Keeping an eye out for some reviews.

Does it come with a bar? If it doesnt, why is there the thing sticking out in the back? Ive seen pics with and with out it. WTF?

according to MMB, there's a first version without bar, then some newer ones with bar. The third version will have 4 sensors per arrow. I'm not sure of the shipment number to version comparison, but its on the mmb site.

I want to make sure that arcade sensors are used in this blueshark metal pad. if it is not, it is worthless.

2 per arrow, nad next Feb they ship with 4 per arrow

Sorry I didn't get this up sooner, my camera decided that it would be a good idea to die as soon as I recieved the pad. Anyways, here is my review.

The pad was packeged well, but it still took a beating in shiping and the bar is a little bent/dented and so is the back part. Other than that it is fine. It is extremely heavy. You could look at this as a plus or a downside, but I don't really take mine out of the basement so for me its no big deal. It won't move, even on the hardest of songs.

The arrow panels are pretty much the same as one ones in the arcade. Thick and sturdy, definately will not crack anytime soon. I also like the design of the panels a lot.

The sensors are legit arcade sensors. The sensitivity is very good, maybe even a bit oversensitive which has caused a few way-offs in fast runs when I am pounding the same arrow rapidly such as in the beginning of Charlene or Infection. They also ocassionaly hit a mine when you stomp an arrow which triggers another. Over time I'm thinking that the sensors will get a little more broken in.

The gameplay is pretty good overall. The arrows are slightly lowered, you can definitely tell the diference between the panels and metal pieces. It feels a little flimsier than the arcade and a little more squishy than the arcade, but definitely the closest metal pad ever made, including BeatGears. I've been able to *** Expert 9 and 10s on it and pass 12s with relatively few errors.

The only things that I see wrong with it are:

The bar. Its a little better than a TX bar, but still pretty flimsy. It gets the job done though, so I don't really mind that much. Plus the leather wrap is nice.

It makes some creaks and squeaks because the panels rub against the metal.

I am very pleased with it and it is definately the best pad I have owned so far. It seems very durable, the sensitivity is good, and it doesn't move during play. If any problems arise I will post about them here.

Heavier metal pad is a plus since it will Not Moving on the hardest of songs. If the arrow panels are pretty much the same as one ones in the arcade, I will give a plus too.

when you said "The sensitivity is very good." How good is it? is it good as cobalt flux? CF seems to be the best so far. is it really really sensitive? I mean really good as CF?

you told us that you have been played on pretty much every type of pad. TX series, RedOctane, Cobalt Flux, old mymybox metal pads, and even on 3 BeatGear pads. Which metal pad is the best? is not CF the best overall? which is better? CF or blueshark?

I just went to ebay to buy the this blueshark metal pad and I just found out that it ended early last night! I missed it.

It is just as sensitive as a Flux. When deciding between this and a Flux, I would say the big difference is flatness. The Flux is super flat and I don't like that.

So, I already have a problem with my BlueShark. Don't let this change your decision making process if you want one of these pads, this is a very nice pad. I just always seem to have bad luck. "Select" or "Square" or whatever button causes the menue to go back seems to be stuck down. Whenever I hit "Start" to go to the Menu of ITG, it immediatly goes back to the opening sequence/RedOctane display. I don't think it is a problem with the c-box because when I disconnect the pad from the c-box and hit "Start," it stays on the menu and doesn't exit out.

Thank you for the nice pics and review. I needed that picture specaily inside structure of the panel with sensors. now I got some idea how to use these sensors. The pad looks really nice.

Thought It was unique I have this problem too, I talked with support today and they are sending me a new control box. I find it might be the control box b/c when I go to training mode in itg it keeps restarting the song with just the control box plugged in i put my tx control box in and it worked just fine. But the tx box isnt compatiable with the pad
