Does anyone know what game the song "Burning Heat!" is originally from? A friend of mine told me it's from Gradius, but I played that game and I can't seem to remember ever hearing it.

It's indeed from Gradius. Gradius II: Gofer no Yabou to be specific. It's from the first level, which is full of gigantic burning meteors (or maybe planets) and dragons made of fire. Never saw release in America AFAIK, but it does have an alternate title of Vulcan Venture, which I would think means it was released somewhere other than Japan... possibly an Asian release or maybe European.
