Miss Toy has reviewed the Tournament metal pad from DDRGame.com. The verdict? The DDRgame tournament metal dance pad is an aesthetically pleasing reasonable simulation of the arcade in their home, but is not suitable for truly hardcore players that are interested in perfect attack.

This was my first metal pad as well and now it doesn't even work blink.gif . It seems mine had a problem with the cord shortly after I got it. It's ok if your a casual player, but don't get it if you play alot - not worth the trouble E13.gif

You could always find a good PS2-Xbox convertor. >_>

But I heard CF is releasing an Xbox control-box around christmas.

I've always loved MyMyBox pads (after a little modding of course). That was a few years ago, not sure what they put out now.

Hate Cobalt Flux, the don't have an arcade feel at all, and they are prone to crappy defects despite what people say. I played on two brand new out-of-the box "commercially warranted" pads, and they both sucked.

You guys must weigh 300 pounds or something. I've had this same pad for almost 2 years, and I play 10-footers on it all the time. None of the arrows are cracked and it's never even given me a pad miss, as far as I know. Even the lights all still work perfectly. I've never had to open it up to fix it.

My first pad was another generic brand, and all its arrows cracked within 2 months, and I was constantly opening it up to adjust the sensors.

I have a cobalt flux and one of these DDRGame pads. They are not that great as shipped, but if you put tin foil under the panels, it makes the pad work better than any other pad on the market. Cobalt Fluxes are great, but their design lets them get dirty a little too easily. Red Octanes just break because they have weak parts.

For the best bought pad, the Cobalt Flux is the best. If you're interested in paying less for a pad that plays just as well, just get one of these and do the tin foil mod.
