I mean I sweat a lot by just playing in street clothes. I am kinda fat so I think I might try this.

Don't try this. I tried it wearing winter clothes and I felt horrible after. There have also been more serious cases. Also, don't overdo it. I'm also fat and I know that it is important to know when to take a break.

If you consider squeezing every drop of moisture out of your body to be "weight loss", then yeah, it would. But if you want real weight loss, you're better off just exercising the normal way.

You'd lose weight for about 24 hours or so. As soon as you re-hydrate yourself, you're still as fat as ever. The only time I ever wore tons of winter clothes was playing White Lovers, ever snow, and V in a set. Just regular old exercise is the key.

Lol, trust me bud, there's no shortcuts to real, healthy weight loss.
Like everyone's said, just gotta keep workin out.
If you're serious about it, work out with more than just DDR/ITG. Go to a gym or something. Work on cardio mostly. Also, dieting will help a great deal.

Sweating doesn't make you lose weight. You sweat when you work out because you get hot, you lose weight because you are burning calories to create that heat and exercise your muscles.
Playing DDR in thick, heavy clothes will just dehydrate you, making you feel tired quicker and probably give you a nasty headache until you get some liquid.

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

Overheating your body puts a lot of stress on it. Stress causes a stress response. A stress response slows down your metabolism. Slower metabolism means you lose less weight for the same amount of excercise. So basically, no, forcing yourself to sweat more is a bad idea. Generally you want excercist to keep your body temperature and hear rate in a well regulated zone for maximal impact.

Well I have to say...I was just diagnosed with high blood preasure. I now have started playing like an hour a day. Not on heavy but on standard. I do like my last 3 songs on heavy.
I use to be in such good shape. Worked out and stayed active but over the last 3 years I have gone down hill. Computers are great...But they will suck the life right out of you if you let them.
Good luck on droping the weight and just dress normal...

I play for weight loss and for fun. I also prefer to play during the winter when it's cooler and when I sweat I don't overheat. Overheating is bad especially when playing such an active game. Also when I play, I wear as little as possible. Your going to sweat regardless but don't overheat yourself or do it to the point where you become so dehydrated you feel sick.

You could dehydrate yourself and tired yourself out really really fast by doing that.
