So be obsessed. Tell your parents to get out of your life, you're almost 18 and they have full control. Most likely when they were 18 they did lots of drugs and they needed to have 24/7 control on them so they try to do that so you don't make their mistakes.

DDR isn't a drug and you're parents are control freaks.

The way my Mom sees it, if it helps me get rid of how clumsy i am, it's doing some good. Step-dad doesn't really care; he still can't believe i even play the game in the first place (see the comment on clumsiness below E15.gif ).

To give you an idea of how clumsy i can be, i've actually tripped over my own two feet; the expression ain't just a figure of speech laugh.gif . It hurts falling from 6' 4" up, lemme tell ya E15.gif

All i can say to the topic starter is this; yes your parents are control freaks, but the way i see it, diplomacy works wonders. You've already found out sort of why your parents don't like DDR (the obsession part, laughing at your Mom probably didn't help E13.gif ). I know for a fact that i've been pretty diplomatic with my Mom in the past, and it has worked (most of the time anyway laugh.gif ). Just try talking to them both; it might help.

Just a little more tip, talk to them when they are calm and relax because it works really betetr than when they are angry or tired laugh.gif

They are your parents.

Exactly how old are you? I would say 15 by the maturity of your posts. Here is a little clue:

GET OUT QUICK! Go to college, military, etc. as soon as possible.

Yeah having mussolini has a parental unit sounds pretty draining. Your parents not only seem insecure, but confused as to how to parent or by what scale to judge their parenting.

Emancipation is always the best answer

My parents are ok with me playing DDR. Sometimes when i play to much they get really mad, like if i go to the mall, and spend all my money on ddr.. they get really angry. Theres Filipino parents for you.
