I love this version a lot. I love it.
I bought yesterday and my friends and I played for several hours until our voices got really raspy.
Guitar Hero sounds fun but it just seems to expensive. I mean 70 bucks is kinda expensive. |

I got Guitar Hero today and I must say that it is awesome, though it is hard to get use to five buttons... =P
As for KRParty maybe until next week or X-mas.
And I thought of this while playing, and maybe I'm not the only one, Konami needs to do a super session game, Karaoke, guitar and drums combined.
That would truely be awesome.

I would suggest playing it- you'll understand why it's worth it. And it's not like they're charging you extra money for the hell of it, say a $60 Madden.
You're getting a controller, and a good one at that. |

Guitar Hero is incredibly awesome. I went from Easy to Hard mode in about 6 hours of playing. You can stand up and bang your head like a rock star, which is actually much more comfortable than sitting down and playing. And to activate your Rock Star Power (a bonus multiplier), you have to tweak the guitar so that the fret board points upward. And No One Knows is on it, which is three pounds of awesome. If you're not sure whether to get it or not, and it's not a decision like "new liver or Guitar Hero", just go get it. Then go to Otakon or Katsucon, and give me some competition. |

They're all covers by the people who do KR's music, I think. Most of them sound...I'd say 90+ percent like the original. I couldn't tell the different for No One Knows, or Thunderkiss '65. All the music is liscensed, though some of it is from relative unknowns, as well as Black Label Society and a song by Freezepop. You have to use the money you get in career mode to buy the non-major songs, and you can't play the major songs til you unlock them in career mode. You start off with 10 songs, you get 20 more in career, and I'm pretty sure there's 20 songs to be bought. All rock (encompassing metal, punk, and classic rock as well), all very nice (in my opinion). |

It's good so far, though the dance mode is a bit awkward when I can't sing 4/5ths of the songs on the game. Also, for unlocks, when it says you need 20/30/whatever platinum records, can it be for the same songs, or would you need to platinum every song to unlock everything?
Also, check out my sweet guitar.

I just got KRP yesterday with a little trepidation as a birthday/Christmas present and I must say it is much deeper than I anticipated.
And I really enjoyed it!
I haven't done sing and dance mode yet but I will. I will also use my EyeToy to make images of my head, my wife's head, and my sister-in-law's too.
I even somehow miraculously got a perfect combo on I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston (easy judging, partial song). (I'm a guy with the voice of a typical Jock but who can hold his voice very steady) I guess it really helps if you've got good lungs and know how to keep your voice steady but then I tried Expert judging and full song and got a gold record so I was better than I thought. I can improve surely. And you'll never find me on Canadian Idol because I can hold a note but I really really can't truly sing.
My wife was blown away when her favourite song of all time was unlocked (another WH song that I will not divulge). And the cat outfit is outright strange. I love it.
I also severely enjoyed when Rico was banging his head when he was doing poorly. And when the mic glows when you're really doing awesome!
And we have yet to try duets and pretty much everything else and yet I already like it very much. _________________

You can not sing the same song repeatedly to unlock songs, outfits and trophies. In other words, if the song you want to unlock requires 25 gold records, you must sing 25 different songs scoring 12500 (gold record minimum) or higher.
Another thing, if you achieve one diamond record, you will also receive a credit for one gold and one platinum record. That way you donât have to go back and sing the songs deliberately scoring lower just to unlock things.
It doesn't matter what difficulty you are playing on either.
Hope that helps,
- Mitch® |

However, doing the same song on single, duet, and song+dance all count as different things. _________________

Thanks for that info guys! It's good to know that if I diamond the full song of I Will Always Love You I don't have to do any others. _________________

I don't know why, but Endless Love is seriously hard to sing. I think the vocal pitch follows the dude's voice, but the girl drowns him out most of the time, so it's really hard to follow.
There are a few songs that I doubt I'll ever get a diamond score for [although I've almost hit the 40 song mark].
...I wonder if there are any videos to unlock.... _________________

The button sticks at a midpoint where it doesn't actually trigger the fret, but at the same time, it's probably going to be more prone to sticking down all the way, which will cause problems with chord hits. _________________
