I tryed that, she now sometimes plays on standard riiight.gif My mom is 60 and i don't get to see her that much but when i first showed her this "interesting machine" woooo....

Well my parents don't really know it, my dad just asked me to show it, and he just told me "and how long will it take you to get bored of this game?"

Well, my mom likes to play it during the winter so she doesn't get fat. She also likes that I have a hobby that I'm really into now. She's ganna get me an afterburner for christmas so I don't have to go to the arcade as much.(which she pays for). Oh and my dad...well I hate him.

My parents dont really care about it but they would probably just say like the normal stuff "Focus on school, not that dancing thing" which I get that alot. but it seems like if i tell my dad to take me to the arcade he'll just take me but yea i guess there pretty cool with it

My mom doesn't mind at all when I play DDR. I usually can get to play it a lot when shes not watching t.v. herself (she's a couch potatoe at times) and my mom is aware of the good exercise I gte out with it. And went out of her way to buy me a cobalt flux =D. So that feninitly added to the fun. I also just recently bought DDR extreme 2(should be shipped here within 2 more days) my mom doesnt really mind at al that i play DDR shes not all aw'ed by my playing as many of the parents that you guys have are. I might even try to get her to play DDR eventhough she might not ever get around to doing it =P.

To the original thread makers parents:

THEY MUST DIEEEEE
jk but you should give them a lil debate about you not being able to do videogames =P. or just w8 till yur 18 ^^

My parents used to be OK with it.
Then I lost 15 lbs in a year, which is bad because im already underweight (went from 135 to 120). Now mom is trying to get me to stop. More SM finger smashing!
On my dad's side, I think hearing Japanese disco (as he calls it) all the time is driving him nuts. And sometimes I play so much that I'm too worn out for mountain biking, which creates tension because he is more obsessed with mountain biking than I am with DDR.

My mom plays. And when I say plays, I mean plays. I mean, I taught her to play a few years ago, and she can practically AA Let's Groove on heavy. She can do lots of sixes and a few sevens, and she's almost fifty!

I say hooray for the older folks gettin' down to j-pop. E4.gif

Hey! Can I meet your mom? I'm a mom too, and almost 50, and am totally into DDR. I'm trying to figure out how to get more of us 'old people' into the game.
BTW, I tried my first heavy songs yesterday and passed a couple of slow ones! Yay!

My mom is okay with it. she just thinks I spend too much money on it at the arcades, and says real dancing would be better. My step father says its dumb, makes you sweat, and I can knock stuff over and break it.(That happend a few times, lol I broke a mirror, 7 years XD)

I asked my mom a few days ago why she didn't like it, and she said that she didn't like it not because of it being a game, but because at times I seem obsessive over the game...

But think about my situation for a moment. I mean, since you've been denied video games since you were born, after playing DDR for the first time you'd be constantly try getting stepcharts and improving by listening to the music... which is what I've done.

I only was introduced to DDR seven months ago, and now I'm a five footer who has started going onto standard mode for more challenges... except for songs like the TRIP MACHINE series, PARANOiA series, Healing Vision -Angelic mix-, and others like Sakura... as well as the MAX 2 songs that are only Oni's...

Okay, so maybe I am a little obsessed... riiight.gif

Yep, but tell your mom it's better than other less 'healthy' obsessions. E13.gif

I think I'm obsessed too, 'cause my kids call me a nut when I tell them about e-mailing one of the founders of Cobalt Flux and asking about getting their product into fitness gyms around here. I want to become a rep. for the company, (probably unpaid) but I want to try out their new super duper pad first and I can't find one near me.

Yep, I think I'm just about ready for the 'funny farm' too. laugh.gif

@_@ I just went and did a scan of just how many stepcharts I've printed out... the total count is 421... both in Light and Standard modes... and even two or three in Heavy (Remember You, BUTTERFLY, LET'S GET DOWN)... y'know the works...

Gah... my brother just doesn't understand why I dance to the stepcharts if I'm never going to get around to the arcade. I think that he fails to realize that I do DDR not only for the video game part, but also because when I do it, I feel better somehow. Like I'm happier after I've played it, even though my legs ache afterwards. xD
