I'm 14 turning 15 January 31.

I'll say that in my area, and maybe other areas that are not so expert:
13-18

Edit: Well.. about that question in the first page...
It just depends what arcade you go to which depends
on the community around that arcade. It could be young
or older people. So yeah... it just depends.

The age range for Tokyo Bemani players goes wildly between 15-40! Though that depends where you go. The youngest players are in places like Harajuku, where every EGL girl plays Elegy on Pop'n music... the oldest usually are in and around places like Akihabara. My closest arcade is frequented mostly by mid-20s guys and high school guys and girls.
I'm 19 myself.

I'm 17, almost 18. Although, most kids at the arcade seem to be young teens, like 14.

Most of the players in my area are a little younger than I am; maybe 16 or 17.

The youngest kid I've seen play where I go to was 13...he was on heavy, but couldn't pass too much...*shrug* I myself am 20, and I think I'm one of the oldest DDR players around these neck of the woods...so I'm guessing DDR players around here range from 15 to 20, but considering the DDR machine is on campus, I know several people either a little younger than me, or even older than me that still play *shrug*

Yeah!!! Once again I'm 14. Anyways...
I began playing DDR when I was... le me c... 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001... 10 years old. You might be 12 and there are usually a lot of people older than you who are hella' good at DDR but you know what Brendino...

You'll be as good as them in no time. Just keep playing and the more you play, the faster you learn things about DDR. If I were you, I would download DDR music from wherever you can and listen to it a lot. It helps you learn the beats and stuff so that you can be a better AA'er. ^^
Believe me, when I was 12.5 years old, I taught 8 people how to go from Light to Heavy without ever playing Standard at all. Yup. And I didn't even use Kick The Can which is the easiest Heavy song in DDR. Believe, 511 is harder than kick the can because the really slow beat of it confuses everyone. ^^

So that's about it. Keep playing DDR and you'll be really good in no time.
I started at age 11 and you're 12 already, so even though you're still finding out new things in DDR, feel good that you're playing a game people are considering one of the funnest music games Konami has made. Me, I started off by playing DDR as a newbie, and I just went straight to Maniac really fast. I never played Standard nor Beginner because my first DDR machine I ever played on was a DDR 3rd Mix, but that's old and it's hard to see the arrows. lol
Enjoy what you can do, and don't feel bad about failing a song, cause in DDR... when you fail a song, it just prepares you even more to be able to pass it. ^^

Good luck kid!

15 here. Like... kinda under or at average, I guess. Yet all the good people I see are at least like five sizes bigger than me, whether it be in age, muscle, height, whatever...

I`m 14... I know people of all ages who play DDR though. like I trained my 8 old sister to play, but at 7 she could play Heavy quite well on arcades. It's kind of cool cause I`m like twice as tall as her but we move the same exept her accuracy is a lil off. I know a guy who's like 30 or 40 and he's like. PRO. and then there's everything in between =3
