problems with pads in general

I bought a metal tx-1000 pad about 6 months ago, i started playing the heavy songs, and now its come to the point where the arrows are cracking, breaking and i cant seem to find any way to replace them. Im wondering if this is because maybe i stomp too hard, maybe wearing shoes affects the life of the pad? Ive been looking around for a new one and they all say the exact same thing "THIS IS THE BEST MOST UP TO DATE DDR PAD WITH LIKE UUBER EVERYTHING SUPER OWNAGE OMEGA ARROWS AND STUFF" everyone says their the best, but how do i know? Is there some more durable than others? Is there certain pads you shouldnt use shoes on? I know the rules says not to ask for the best pad implying im lazy by not looking but i did look. And i still have no idea. Can anyone tell me if there is the best pad out there? something thats as close to the arcade as possible and durable?



if theres anyone here who has a pad thats lasted them a long time and they feel is just like the arcade id really like to know what it is



and also, the tx-1000 does not feel like an arcade pad, after using the tx and then hopping on the arcade, i felt like i was learning all over. The arrows are recessed and smaller, where as mine are just flat, i want something thatll feel easy going back and forth from pad to arcade

The arrows crack because of a PCB thats under them. Buy a roll of roofing flashing (sheet metal), get a staple gun and duct tape, and PM me. I'll show you the way

well as far as good pads go. The only pad that has lasted a long time from what i have heard is the cobalt flux which i am waiting to recieve myself. Some ppl on the forum said they have had it for as much as two years and its still working. But on the other hand some ppl have problems with that pad but i would say in general less though. However in terms of proven longevity cobalt flux is your best bet i would say. Its the only pad to have a 6 month warranty but the price is 300 dollars. And then add shipping to that unless u can pick it up from utah. Metal pads are supposed to be played while wearing shoes so u won't cut ur feet. There is that new blueshark metal pad that will also have a 6 month warranty but it is not exactly being sold yet on the www.mymybox.com website. It may be good b/c of 6 month warranty but if the wiring is not done well it may turn out to be bad. For ur tx i would say if the sensors are still working but the arrows are cracked. I wouldn't give up on the pad unless there was some serious wiring problems which a quick soldering couldn't fix. Try www.gameenhancer.net they sell polycarbonate arrows better than acrylic. There are probably other sites like mymybox.com. so www.cobaltflux.com supposedly the best and most expensive pad available at the moment 299.99. The cobaltflux has an arcade modkit which makes it feel more like the arcade (costs extra though). but mymybox blueshark will probably be more expensive since it supposedly uses arcade sensors. In terms of softpads the best is the original konami dx pad on that toys and joys website linked to in one of the other topics but its still a soft pad. I think its too expensive for a softpad. For a softpad u shouldn't use shoes. Nothing will ever feel 100% like the arcade though unless u buy the actual cabinet urself. There is the redoctane afterburner but in the thread i heard quite a lot of complaints ie (broken arrows, usb problems and just not working altogether). I myself had a bad experience with a metal pad. The sensor just died and that's it but the arrows since they are polycarbonate and not acrylic are still in one piece. after three months of constantly playing heavy songs. but that pad i checked the wiring was really poorly done and not easily taken apart either since the wooden base above the wiring was stapled and nailed together

meh i'm just lazy with punctuation. This is not an assignment. If it was I would proofread it and a lot of punctuation, which is missing, would be added. Those are just my informal thoughts about my experience with pads.
