. Having tried almost every single pad out there (3 or 4 types of soft pads, hard plastic pads that come in 4 pieces, hard plastic pads with the circular buttons, Komani DX pads, etc...)

gee, he's comparing a metal pad to non metal pads? Well OF COURSE he's going to be impressed. He should go out and test a few CFs and ABs and TXs before he starts saying crap like:

I can easily say beyond a shadow of a doubt that these platforms are as close to feel of the arcade stage as you can get without building your own custom platform

on the other hand, it's good to see a review written objectively (though uninformed). I'd kinda like to know where he got these pads, but he never posted a link, and the name "Dance Dance Revolution Metal Arcade Dance Platform" doesn't help at all. It seems to be roughly a TX model, judging by the contact system.

I believe that model pad is no longer made, given the review is over four years old. Odds are it was one of the first generation MyMyBox clones.

What Heffenfeffer said. E10.gif Look at the upper right hand corner of the pad, where those 4 white buttons are. These pads were made before the current trend of having select and start buttons on a separate control box. They don't make these pads anymore to my knowledge. The closest thing to it, I think, would be this MyMyBox pad, which is even more expensive and also out of stock. o_O
