lol what?

My stepfile collection:

Found 7572 songs in 268 groups
DWI: 4969
SM: 2201
KSF: 264
BMS: 138

Total size of directories: 19498MB = ~19GB

And I started from nothing less than six months ago (after many of the major sites of the time had gone down), so obviously it's still possible to find quite a lot of simfiles for Stepmania. And I don't think I ever even visited Bemanistyle, DDRLover, or any of the other sites you mentioned, so they're certainly not the only places to find simfiles.

Except hands did not make this flamewar, you started it by pointlessly over exaggerating something with baseless facts and stupidity everywhere.

You posted the flamebait, in this case, utter and obvious stupidity. I took it and flamed you, so yes, I started it. Hell if I care.

Thank you for being mature enough to actually admit you started the shit. Also it WAS YOU who posted that flamebait by calling me a fucking retard. You wanted me to flame you so I'd get warning points and be banned. Luckily, I'm not that stupid. You started ALL the shit

NOW LET'S END IT AND STAY ON TOPIC!!!!!

I had a link to a FFR like simulator on some crappy website which simulated a run at PARANOiA Red, however, unfortunetly, I lost it.

Hope I can find it again, I'll tell you if i do.

Bah, this thread is really starting to suck, so I might as well answer the question.

Upon doing a quick search of my collection, I see that I have two simfiles called PARANOiA Red. They're both of the exactly same song, but the steps are completely different, having been done by two different people.

The simfile was released by "Dokurider". I got a 667MB pack of his simfiles on DDRUK's IRC channel. I think it was actualy on two of the fservs there last time I checked, so hopefully one of them will still have it. I had it on my fserv, but I haven't been on IRC lately (bandwidth issues). This pack was also mirrored on DDRHeaven.com, but I doubt their simfile archive is still there. As I mentioned, websites suck for finding and downloading large files -- they're very unlikely to stay accessible for long once word about the site gets out and the first bandwidth bill comes in.

Difficulties: Light 5, Standard 8, Heavy 10, Oni 10

This simfile is part of "XXmiX", a Japanese Stepmania mix similar to Foonmix. You should be able to download it directly from its official website (http://www.bit-symphony.net/) just like I did. In fact, I just checked & verified that one of the download links on the site is working, so you have no excuse for not being able to download this one. (There are many other large Japanese mixes that can be downloaded directly from the web if you don't mind digging through Japanese sites for the download links -- they're pretty cool because they include their own themes as well as a bunch of simfiles. The Foonmixes are the most famous but there are others like XXMiX, StrawberrySteps, D3Mix, the Party Nite mixes, LTF-Mix, etc.)

Difficulties: Light 6, Standard 7, Heavy 10, Double Light 6, Double Standard 7, Double Heavy 11

There's no such thing, unless you steal the bandwidth from your school, place of work, etc., and even that would only last you until somebody noticed. And remember that the files we're dealing with are illegal, so when someone does notice, the whole situation isn't going to look very good to them.

As I've mentioned several times, websites suck for distributing large files to large numbers of people. Websites are the worst way to distribute large files to large numbers of people. With all the people who want zero-effort direct downloads, the bandwidth bills would be astronomical and the site could not stay up for long. Even if you signed up with a webhost that offered you a really great deal of $0.25 per gigabyte of transfer, a full set of the DDRUK bumper packs is close to a gigabyte -- do you really want to pay $0.25 for each of the tens of thousands of leeches who would suck down the files with no intention of giving anything to anyone in return? Centralized distribution is inefficient, antiquated, and doesn't work under these circumstances.

The files are already available via Bit Torrent and on IRC. There's no point in putting up yet another website that'll die in a month because you can't afford to keep it up.

If you want to donate your bandwidth to the cause, help to seed the Bit Torrent files, or run an fserv on IRC, or share the files on as many of the P2P networks as you can.

Hands R' Us + Blair + their posts in the simulators forum = lol

Anyways, the PPS downloads should be up soon (installing the new server, so hopefully no more Bandwidth exceeded biggrin.gif). I'm not sure if the simfiles will be up though (shinji's in charge of that).

Cool! I never thought that they would ever bring the simfile section back. I guess that they are doing it in relief efforts as a result of the death of bemanistyle. Thanks for the information! E1.gif

Jeez BMS is NOT DEAD. Even if it was shut down, it would be back up in a matter of months with simfiles included, just like ddruk, so just STFU about BMS dying.

Holy crap, this thread is out of control.

If you have a simfile request, don't make a new thread, use the sticky.

Stop speculating about BMS. It's been stated it's not gone forever. No more arguments about that topic.

And quit the flaming. It's against the rules, and it serves no purpose whatsoever.
