I usually wear my pair of Gallaz (a division of Globe incase ya didnt know E15.gif ) They are great!!
When I first started I made the mistake of wearing ugg boots...not cool, I kept slipping (thankfully I was doing beginner mode then so it was fairly slow!).
Ive tried barefoot but it hurts!
SK8 Shoes forever!

Amen! I use NB shoes because they don't weigh your feet down.

I have always played in basketball shoes. When I started playing I was always wearing these Converse Weapons. Really sweet shoes, but when I played DDR they would squeak as they would on a basketball court. After that I had some Nike AF-1s, which were not so squeaky, but not as comfortable as the Weapons. And now I have just the classic Cons, which I think are the best so far......... geeze, I must sound like some kind of Converse representative or something...........

I wear these nerdy beat-up, white velcro shoes. They're very light and I have never slipped in them.

i got a brand new metal pad called the Fusion pad, i don't even need to use shoes anymore, it's one big pad with a smooth silver surface. i LOVE IT! i can even see my own reflection from the pad so its like im dancing on water. forget the shoes, barefoot all the way! sorry guys, im just so stoked riiight.gif

If i recall, there is a one inch rise from the ground with the metal "pad". Wear shoes, or you may cut your feet open when you mis-step. frown.gif

At home, socks. No shoes never ever.

At the arcade, Nike Barefoots. Actuallly flexible enough to do the double-on-one-foot if you need it around the metal, and there's a few songs in the 8 range where I still need it.

From the shoes I've gone through since I started DDR in 2002, I find the type of shoe dosnt have a whole lot of effect unless you wearing something rediculous like boots or clogs. Overall a lighter shoe makes things a little easier, more so on very fast songs. From about 2004 to present I've shopped for shoes with a major concern in mind for DDR. Since then I've chosen Nike running shoes that were light, had a low ankle, and a sole that wasn't spiked or jagged.

New Balances that have worn out their welcome....

WITH NEON SHOELACES!

I'd have put up a pic, but I think I can only do that in 'imaging' and also I have no clue how.

At home...i'm usually either in socks, or bare-foot. I find it easier bare-foot..you don't slide around. Lol, but hey, my DDR's in my basement and it's cold down there..so, that's why i wear socks sometimes..lol.

At the arcade...i ALWAYS wear my black converse. I don't know why, but those are my shoes that i get down and dirty in. Lol. When i do technical things that involve needing to shower afterwards, i go to those shoes. Lol.
