Do you ever choose songs based on how you feel?

I do this a lot. For example, whenever I'm with this guy that I really like and always inspires me, I pick "Hero"! This, I know, is sorta stupid and a little wierd, but I think I play the game better if I choose songs based on my mood...

sometimes:

I'll pick be in my paradise-Beginner if I'm feeling tired
I'll pick PSMO if I'm feeling over-energetic
and for a plain old good time, I'll pick sakura.
umm JOKE. lol

in all seriousness I've only done this once:
an extremely attractive girl was sitting on a barstool watching me play. I picked After The Game Of Love and winked at her.
That WAS serious.

I just play songs that sound good and to impress people i play hard songs.

I'm a big guy, 6'5 290, and I only pick songs that I can move fast enough to, like Cant Stop Falling in love, on Light. But the only time I pick a song from my mood is when Im extremely hyper or mad. In which I play Ecstacy

If I'm angry/frustrated I'll play fast songs like Max 300, Drop Out, and Dead End...then I'm so tired I don't have enough energy to be annoyed anymore.

Sometimes I'll use DDR just to get my mind off of things. Last week when my dog had to be put to sleep I played for 6 hours straight on heavy.

When I broke up with my girlfriend, I went to the arcade and did PSMO for all 3 songs, just because I was trying to kill myself... and through doing that met my NEW, DDR loving girlfriend.

I like and agree with a lot of these reponses... I played DDR for 4 hours straight on the day my cat died. Also, I do lots of songs that have the word "Love" in the title. Love Shine rocks!

When i'm depressed i'll play songs I know I can pass easily, then if i'm in a "Hmm..might as well DDR" mood i'll play harder songs (.Orion78 or Healing Vision, Angelic Mix) and think i'll fail, but I somehow do really good on those when i'm not really thinking about doing well.

I'll play Love^ Sugar if i'm feeling bouncy and Love Shine if I feel like singing along in an annoying voice to ward of anyone nearby
