Yesterday I went to a medium sized get together at a friends house and brought my DDR with me (a PS2, MAX/MAX 2/Ex/ITG loaded on the HD, and 2 CF pads).

At first everyone was saying things like "That looks stupid" and "You call that dancing?". But after some peer pressure, we got almost everyone to try at least one song on beginner.

About 8 of us played for the rest of the night (6 of which never played before). They all wanted to know where they can buy it and how much pads cost.

I just love it when people get over the initial embarrassment and just realize having fun is having fun.

Is there a point to this thread?

Just asking.

I see the point to it because I'm a real DDR player E1.gif . Thats cool, most of my "friends" don't like it either, but I don't care. I too have gotten some of my "friends" to play it and they have enjoied it.

Good job. thumb.gif lol

I hate to admit it, but I use to be one of the players who would go to the arcade and end up insulting all the ddr players and how ridiculous they looked. And how I got started is my friend shane challenged me and neither of us had played before. About an hour later I was down $20.00. I became addicted, now I play Extreme for PS2.

So, more-or-less, the ddr community grew about 6 people or so because of your interest you wanted them to know about. Good Job thumb.gif ::pat on back::

Not only that, but to share a story to demonstrate that a little persistence/peer pressure pays off when getting people to try DDR and that those people who mock it may just end up liking it E1.gif

People need to stop asking this question.

I have also converted several new players since I picked up the game two years ago. In fact, just a few days ago I got a call from a friend that I hooked, and he told me he passed his first heavy song; I was so proud riiight.gif .
