can some1 please explain courses...like in detail...or at least direct me to the exact page of a thread that has it (i think it might be in one of the huge thread with like 300 pages of stuff to read but i dont know). I downloaded a big course thing from ddruk. i thought it was songs but i have no clue which folder goes in the courses folder, the download has a courses folder then inside that a bunch of immages and many folders with ddr edition names (such as ddr 8th mix extreme) so basically what do they do and how do i install them into stepmania?

Well, first of all, don't double-post if nobody's responding. Second of all, once you download the course from bemanistyle, you have to unzip the contents of the folder into your courses folder. The courses should be put in group folders such as 'my courses' or something along those lines. Inside if the group folders you put the folder for the course itself. And inside this folder should be the course itself (the .crs file) and possibly a banner for it. There ya go!

Courses are nonstops, and onis. You need to have all the songs for them to work properly, and/or need to edit the courses so it actually links to the song(s), instead of dead/nonexistant folders.
