stepmania load problem

well i have stepmaniax on my xbox and everything worked fine for a while (when i had 300 songs) now i have around 1000 songs and it freezes, the game loads the cache then freezes when i would try to enter the single, verses, couples, doubles, solo screen it freezes and it wont work it is just a black screen any way on how to stop this?

Hmm... try deleting some songs maybe, 1000 songs that like 1gb+ or more and the xbox HD is only 6-7 gb i think and i dont have StepmaniaX so i m just guessing

i have a modified xbox and xport ported stepmania to xbox, it's called stepmaniax and some stock hard drives are 10 gigs the newer ones are 8 i belive, and i put in a 250gb HDD in there so i have plenty of room

i'll have to try and work that out maybe i have to delete some of them

actually i have like 700 songs and hardrive but it jsut freezes on the "uploading song'screen.

how do i get it to work again?

i found a solution, to all who are in need of the answer, make 2 stepmaniax's on your xbox and put a good amount in each, if you have a lot then make 3 it should work them i am about to test it out for myself

so you just install it twice?

heres what happened with me:

It was working fine for a while, but it wouldnt let me change the controls so "x" was start and "a" was select or whatever, which bugged me
but then i tried doing the pump it up feature
and whenever i started it up it would freeze

so i put all my songs into a different folder on my xbox

then i uninstalled, then installed stepmania again, but when it loaded up it was stick on one of the songs while uploading for a really long time.

anybody have a recent versions of Stepmanix that isnt so bugged?

PIU is not working on SMX as for as i know for right now, the most recent version is V5 but they did just come out wiht a cvs build

Update: i did test out my theory of multiple SMx's and it does work, one important thing you have to do is clear your X,Y,and Z drive (cache drives) and clear out your cache folder, it may still take some time the first time you load each SMx because it is creating a cache for each song and banner, my breakdown is, (konami offical library, all of the songs for the arcades unorganized in 1 folder), then organized by mixes, then all the dancing stages, then ITG, and finally, recent songs and mixes (linkin park, Jz stuff like that) all totaling to somthing around 1100 i think
