| OK, I was going thru my sm files and I saw a song that I wanted to put on a playlist to burn to a CD. I moved the mp3 from the .zip file for sm into my shared file. I thoguht it would just duplicate it but it moved it. So, i moved the mp3 back into the .zip file but now the song wont play when I play stepmania. I get all the steps and everything but no music. Is there a way to fix this? Or do I have to delete the file and dowload it again? If I have to dowload it again, is there a way i can save the steps for an edit that I made for the song? Or do i also have to redo those? Any help will be greatly appreciated |

OK, found the problem, but I got nother Q. I got a song file the other day and I made an edit for the song. How can I make a .zip package that come with all the banners and stuff but instead of the steps I got it with, use my edit steps?
Sorry for the dumb questions, im new to SM |

Easy, just go into the SM/DWI/BMS file, and delete the original steps, and put yours in.
If it messes up, try looking at the SM/DWI/BMS file format, and make sure you have everything right in yours.

If you made actual steps with StepMania under "Edit", then go into "Edit/Sync Songs" and go to your song, but dont click it. Instead, Go to the bottom of the song option menu there, and where it says Edit, change that to Delete. Then highlight the ones you dont want, ie. Trick/Standard,etc. and press Enter, while the Delete option is showing, then confirm it by selecting Yes.
Then, go into your steps, not with Delete, change it back to Edit, and Copy the whole song by pressing Space, then End, then Space to highlight, and Enter, and Copy.
Then go into wherever you want to put it, BEG, LGT, STD, HVY, CHA, but not Edit.
And go to the Beginning of the song and Press Enter and "Paste at current beat".
If that didn't work, sorry.

After you download a song, click open on the download. You will then see a folder that has the name of the song that you downloaded. Now under start go to all programs and find the stepmania file. Under stepmania there will be a file that says 'Open Stepmania Program folder'. Click this. You will then be taken to a file that contains alot of folders. Click on the folder that says 'Songs'. Within this folder, create a NEW folder to put your song in. You can make groups like "Konami Originals", "Fan made", etc. Once you create this new folder, drag the song into this folder. And Vwala, your song is playable.  |

Well, once bemanistyle.com comes back up, use them, they r the best. Until then, I use ddrlover.com, then go under media. All they have are Konami originals tho. Or song that have been in a bemanigame. No fanmades or edits. |

is there any way to move a song from one folder to another folder without having to lose the score you got on it?
example:
./songs/Dance Dance Revolution Extreme/Max 300
moved to:
./songs/Dance Dance Revolution Max 6th Mix/Max 300
i know it's dumb of me to make a mistake like that  , but i really don't want to lose the score or have it filed improperly.

Just take a small jpg, jpeg, bmp, or png, and name it with "cd" in it somewhere.
When you reload songs, StepMania should auto detect it.
