|
|
Hi,
I recently got myself an Ignition 4.0 soft foam pad. It worked great the first day. The second day, the left arrow stuck horribly. What am I doing wrong?
I left the pad outside during the late afternoon (in the shade) to air it out, and I store it horizontally flat (with foam in) in the garage. Are either of these bad practices? |

well first off all yes a pad can malfunction on the first day of play, even with a metal pad, but if you have any questions you should try contancting RO. _________________

sounds like u just got a faulty pad... If your buttons stick, then its the sensor panel's problem. The only way to actually fix it is to replace the whole panel. For soft-hard foam pads, the sensor is built in between the nylon fabric of the outerpad. To fix it would be too difficult, as you would need to cut open the fabric, replace a the panel, either solder or somehow connect the panel wires together, and then re-sew the nylon fabric where it was cut open. If you left it out in the shade, it shouldn't have done anything to the pad at all. To store it, you should just fold it nicely and put it in the appropriate space as you do now. I think you should go back to wherever u got your pad, I'm guessing RO, and get it exchanged. That'd be the simplest and easiest solution. _________________

Thanks for the feedback
I got it from an online provider, www.ddrgame.com (their warehouse is about a half hour away from my house)
The thing is, I have had this trouble with several pads now...I had another one from ddrgame that I exchanged because it quit after about a week, and one from Fry's that died similarly quickly. All of them ended up with sticky left arrows...
I don't play much (3 times a week, 15-30 minutes per session), and I don't weigh much either (<100 pounds), so there shouldn't be any reason for the pads to give out on me that quickly, should there? |

No, I don't think so.
But from what I've heard those pads aren't too great really. They are cheap RO imitations... _________________

You definitely have a fake RO pad. There is no 4.0 Ignition. _________________

so...um...what should I do? should I exchange it for the same one, or get something else? I remember that the two 2.0 Ignitions I got from that same warehouse lasted over a year, so... |

Try ordering REAL RedOctane pads and not fake imitations, maybe? I've heard the REAL RedOctane Ignition 3.0 works nicely (for at least a week, anyways...) |

DDRGAME dance pad is cheap, but does not last long. my friend also had same problem with ddrgame. if you buy a metalpad from fry's, you are getting ribbed off because you can buy the same metal pad from cyphergames.com . on the metal pad box, it clearly show that cypher gouup with FEDEX Lable
Fry's also selling deluxe or ignition pad for $99.99 while you can buy the same pad from cyphergames.com for $49.99
Do not buy dance pads from fry's unless it is redoctane or brand name dance pad.

Ok I'm having the same problem with BNS pads and RO (real ones). Anyway Ive tried 3 different BNS pads (all with dense foam or metal) and RO 3.0, and on all of them the left arrow stick and the down keeps doing the "ghost arrow" thing. I have AA'ed Max300 and MaxX Unlimited on standard, but now I'm failing 4 foot songs because of my pads. Is there a reason why every pad I've gotten absolutely sucks?(besides the fact that they aren't CF) The only pads I ever had that worked lasted me over a year (also BNS) until I gave them to my cousin for his birthday. They are still working a year and a half after I bought them, but everything I've gotten since has been sh*t after less than a week or even straight out of the box.
So basically... WTF? _________________

Sorry to bump/double post, but i really need an answer...
I just got another red octane 3.0 (just to be sure) and its already f*cking up. It's been two days dammit. Do I have the worst luck in the world or am I doing something bad without knowing it, its not like I'm constantly beating out ten footers or abusing the pad. Any random info or pad care or somthing would be appreciated. _________________
