The same reason why on earlier mixes Dead End is listed as a 10 footer but was later bumped down to a 8 ( i think its 8 now) Sometimes when Konami puts a song out they find out later that it's either easier or harder then they first thought. ( this is all my own thoery. I'm not sure about this) When the first Candy came out maybe they thought the steps were hard enough to be an 8 but with the release of the newer version they felt the steps were too easy. >.> or something along those lines. I personally think that Candy (star) is either a hard 7 or an easy 8. Think of it like Sakura which is an easy 10, almost easy enough to be a 9 but not quite. laugh.gif

Nope, it's a 9. Simple pattern, but relatively tiring. The business of changing song difficulties is nothing new. We just haven't seen any lately because there hasn't been a new arcade mix.

Some random stuff you may, should, or might not know:
LoM DOES go up to 666 BPM, BUT you don't do anything, so they left it out of the BPM telling. You have ta notice

Rearrange Naoki M. to spell a company famous here....

After the Game is really just After the Game of Love w/o lyrics (Yes, I'm sure ya knew dat...)

What's a Nonstop Megamix? Well, know how KOJ makes a 2nd CD w/ all the songs played altogether? Sometimes, they change it alittle (Like Drop Out or Wild Rush) to either make it go along w/ the other songs, or based on how they felt dat day.

Some Naoki artist names, but not all (See if ya know which made what song!):
Omega (the symbol), 8bit, 180, 190, 190', 200, 270, 290, BLUE DESTROYERS, d-complex, D.J.RICH feat. TailBros, DE-SIRE, DIVAS, FACTOR-X, KTz, Luv UNLIMITED, mitsu-O!, N&S, N.M.R, NAOKI, NAOKI 190, NAOKI underground, NM, NO.9, NW260, RE-VENGE, RevenG, Stone Bros., UZI-LAY, Z, ZZ

What's the significance of ".59"? Well, "point five nine" in Japanese is "ten-go-kyu", very similar to "tengoku", which is Japanese for "heaven" or "paradise".

In the original Cutie Chaser, there were spots of blood on both the banner and the background graphic, and the furry cop was holding a gun. They've all been removed and all other/future mixes featuring this song.

(You know this) In MAKE A JAM! Light/Basic, you step to the famous Konami code.

In the original The Earth Light, there were some orgasmic female voices over the track. That didn't sit well with Konami of America at the time, so they decided to remove them for this version. Also, the original background art had some sketches of (clothed) ladies around the planet.

(I know I'll get a big response) Someone contacted Konami directly and they solemnly swear that there's no swearing in Highs Off U, else they wouldn't have put it in this game, but it does sound very convincing (It's BUGGIN').

(You should know this too) If you play a song w/ a music video, no dancers will appear.

The banner specifically says "Heart Love (squared) shuga (in Japanese) Heart", but it's said as "LOVE LOVE SUGAR".

Captain Jack is a band led by Franky Gee, an American who has done his time in the military. After leaving the service, he decided to leave the country that seemed so pro-war to him, so he settled in Germany, where he eventually picked up his music career. Most of his songs are militaristic, but he's sure to place his anti-war and pro-unity messages in many of his songs. He's the male vocalist for this tune, and Lisa De Soto is the female vocalist.

Theme From Enter The Dragon (notorious mix) was originally called "Revival 2001 Mix". Don't ask me why they changed it. This tune was originally written by Lalo Schifrin for the movie of the same name, starring the late martial arts superstar, Bruce Lee.

If you try to say "A" out loud, it's "Ace". Makes sense given the card suits and the joker in the background still.

The "for EXTREME" tag means that is a shortened version of an original Beatmania song designed for DDR. "V" is short for Vivaldi, as in, the famous baroque composer Antonio Vivaldi. The original piece this work is based on is from The Four Seasons, Concerto No.4 in F Minor, revision 297, "Winter".

Ecstray (midnight blue mix), Higher (Next Morning Mix), Wild Rush (from Nonstop Megamix), Tsugaru (Apple Mix), & Drop Out (from NSMM) were originally in DDRMAX2 as a secret song only playable through an Oni Course & were first selectable as a song in DDR Extreme arcade.

People in Beginner mode are Train (guy) & Bus (girl). WHY they have those name, I don't know....(My guess is w/ the ending credits)

D2R can be translated as "D2" meaning "DD" to get "DDR". Technically, this song came out on Beatmania IIDX 7th Style 1st, but since DDRMAX2 came out a few weeks later, it's more or less considered a simultaneous release, and since the composer is Naoki, he'd like you to consider it a new DDR song first.

Officially, In The Navy was first in DDR 2nd ReMix for the JP PS1, but only as a preview song with Light (or its equivalent at that point).

Mr. T is Tomoyuki Uchida, a KO artist, and Motoaki Furukawa is the original composer of Burning Heat! (3 Option Mix), which is a classic tune from Gradius II, from the level of the same name. The original Beatmania version was "Full Option Mix" and is slightly longer.

Tommorrow Perfume was playable in IIDX 7th, but was the theme for IIDX 6th Style.

Kakumei is based off Frederic Chopin's work entitled "Revolutionary Etude", which is his tenth opus, number 12. Kakumei is taken from the kanji "kaku", meaning "change", and "mei", meaning "order", which together make the word "revolution".

Actual "short trip" through the Dark Black Forest: 3 minutes+...

The Whistle Song's original subtitle in that mix was actually "Blow My Whistle "Itch w/ a B", but exposure to such words can severly damage young minds, so KOA changed it...How nice...¬_¬

Search DDR Chit-Chat for "DDR Censorship History" (Made by me!) about some names you couldn't enter at the High Scores screen on some old DDR arcade mixes.

Yes, those are orgasmic sounds you're hearing in Insertion. Why they kept those in and not the ones in "THE EARTH LIGHT", we'll never know.

The normal way to write Matsuri Japan is with the kanji for "matsuri", which a generic word meaning "festival".

Sometimes, Double steps are da same for Standard & Heavy for some songs. Why? I don't know...

Take a good look, folks, because here we have a DDR oddity. R&P (K.O.B G3 Mix) is currently the ONLY licensed song in the American DDR scene that's a secret song in the game. All other secret songs in all other American DDR games are KO, and that includes Ultramix's song packs. Rhythm & Police was an old Japanese cop show (currently not airing). The title graphic for the show looks much the same as the background we have here in the game (except they didn't use the silhouettes of DDR characters).

There has been some confusion about SANA MORETTE NE ENTE. Long short, the real title is "SANA MOLLETE NE ENTE". People who know Japanese will notice that the song's title is in katakana, the character library used to describe foreign words. In proper practice, if you were translating something from katakana back to Roman letters (called "romaji"), you would spell it out properly in its native language (for instance, the katakana for "video game" would be translated back to "video game" in romaji, not "bideo geemu"). So, in truth, this song SHOULD be its true title, not a literal translation of the katakana.

Also, we're assuming that "Sana Mollete Ne Ente" is Spanish. someone played around with Babelfish, and it seems that it roughly translates (with some fiddling around with the Japanese structure) to "The grind heals the being".

If ya don't know, SANA MORETTE NE ENTE is about this girl who complains her boyfriend plays too much Beatmania!

Not all of those are Easter Eggs though. They're just random tidbits of knowledge that you threw together. We're talking about honest-to-God Easter Eggs. Things hidden in DDR that people are supposed to find. There aren't that many.

And the last two things on your list are taken from a GameFAQs Song Breakdown of two songs from the US version of DDRMAX. Unless you're the author, please credit him.

Uh, you're playing Extreme US, which doesn't count jumps as 2 steps in the combo. It's 321 on the ARCADE and Japanese Home versions of Extreme.
